My First Grow

Sup guys ..... Now I know i was orignally decieded on Hydro but i felt that i had a little more investing to do and cash it tight atm so ima have to settle for soil. So here i am
Hydro or soil either way its a first grow for me.

Here are some pics of my set up.

My 2nd fan and Eventually ill have to narrow it down to 4 ladies


This my third fan. I was afraid of having to much heat so i custom made this steel box with some steel and steel tubing to fit around a cheap fan i got at walmart.


Then i took apart my 600w Hps Fixture and slapped it on the Laser at work and made some cuts so that i could run a 4" duct to my now custom fan.


600w HPS Its nice working in a sheetmetal shop i think ill be custom making me another light fixture now that i have one to work off of.

What strains you got going?
What kinda soil are you using and what nutrients?

I figured i would custom up another one of my fans with a carbon filter as this was brought to my attention on my original hydro post, just waiting for some free time at work. Figure I got a couple weeks.

Anyone ever try them charcoal fiber filters? whats the diffrence?

your light only has an exhaust port, No intake..? won't you need one...???
will it fit on the light next to the electrical box..? pulling cool air through the light will allow you to get them closer to your plant's....better light intensity... I'm just curious..? look's good though

get a vaportek. my basement smelled like a beach and ocean from saltwater tank. started running my VT 4000 yesterday and smell is gone. seeds germin now. will just kep it on at low setting.

If you notice the picture showing the pots and the second fan it points directly up at the light. I figured that would be good enough circulation. Next grow i plan making a custom light fixture.

Well One thing Ive learned is u never know if youll get a second chance to do things u put off till tomorrow. So if im going to invest into somthing i might as well do it right the first time.

i got a "phat hydro" carbon filter for like 40 bucks and it takes care of up to 100 spuare feet

soil is better way to go for your first time any way you will be more pleased withthe results. so dont feel like it is "second teir" or a sacrifice cuz you couldnt afford the hydro way. its probably a blessing in disguise.

Well as for the strains i have no clue. they come from an old seed collection over the years.

As for soil im using Miracle-Grow

And as far as nutrients go im undecieded atm. I was hoping to get some feed back from all of you guys. Was looking for somthing that will suit a newb grower nothing thats going to be too complicated.

miracle grow eh...dont start you seedlings in it if it has ferts added...just way to hot for the little guys and youll end up burning and quite possibly killing your babies. you have to w8 untill they get more developed b4 you put them into the fertalized m grow.

if its got no fets added your srt8. plant away.

you wont need any veg nutes if your using fertalized m grow soil. it should have enough to carry you through veg unless you plan on veggin for a long time.

look for a decent bloom supliment and maybe some molasses for late bloom and you good. make sure your ph is good.

Sigh too late all my seeds in MGrow already. 4 seem to be responding the other 6 have yet to surface.

Hey Slash, in the 5th photo down, do I see three hole's in the light.? I saw the fan between the plant's, does it have a speed adjustment..? Also, is that light an enclosed fixture.? (does it have glass between plant and light.?) sorry if I'm being a pain..!

lol thats only one hole reflecting on the mirror surface of the sides.


And yeah all my fans have speed adjustments and No its not an enclosed ....im sure it wouldnt take much to mod the whole thing but meh is there any reason besides a toasty plant i should be conserned about it not being enclosed right?
