Hey here are some pics of my first grow, the strain is the famous Mazar from Dutch Passion (2nd place '99 high times cup). I am growing 2 plants in 3 gallon pots. I am using Coca medium and Coca Canna 2 part nutrients, with added P and K now they are flowering. They are growing in a small cupboard using a 250W sodium lamp, with a desk fan and plenty ventilation. Temp day 76 degrees and at night drops to 68 - 70 degrees.

The pics were taken on day 30 of a 60 - 65 day flowering period.

Some of the leaves are a little yellow, but have increase nutrients slightly and this seems to be rectifying the problem.

Any advise on care and especially timing of the harvest would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Thx dude, i thought they were quite advanced for the number of days flowering, but don't have anything to compare them too as this is the first grow, and it seems that all strains whether they are indica or sativa are all different in the size and structure of the bud.

First off, Welcome to ICMag. You have done an excellent job on your first grow. And tremendous yeild for a 250. You don't need many tips, just fert for two more weeks and start flushing for the last two weeks. And show patience near the end to let them finish up. Best of luck.

Thanks for all the kind words, it means a lot and is great for the ego......lol

Have really enjoyed the grow, am in my final yr of uni in the UK and study from home, so i can check on thier progress regularly, which i think has made a difference.

How will i know when they are ready to crop, this seems to be crutial as, from some literature, if they go over, then the whole crop is ruined, and on the flip side, if i cut them early then they wont be at thier full potential.

Should i flush them just with water, or use molasses or some other flushing agent.

My water but is a big black bucket with a lid, and has a small aquarium bubbler in it for maximum oxygenation.

Thanks again

I think you should be very happy your first grow is turning out so nice. Everything looks spot on. Do like the others said and feed two more weeks, then flush. You'll have a great harvest.

jeap, for a first grow this is a very beautifull and healthy looking plant i think.

If i may give an advice for the images: they're quite well done but if your camera
can handle it (is it an SLR?the quality looks quite fine, great colors!) use aperture priority or manual settings - try to use a bit smaller aperture opening (=higher number) to get the budshots all sharpened up. Tripod can help you to manage the shutter times that will increase by using a smaller aperture size... or some other surface that can act as one ^^. Automatic settings of most cameras prefer shutter speed...even if you increase the ISO number most often you end up with the camera selecting a very big aperture size. So try to prevent using these :)

Hope to see more images of your plants, nice job.

Looks like a great start cycloterus!
Mazar was the first strain I grew and she was a joy to grow. I would feed up to about day 50-54 then flush to the chop. Dont begin flushing too soon or you will possibly lose some additional yield.
I look forward to the updates.

definitely a great start to a first grow... those are looking sweet! Personally I would wait for 1-2 weeks before the harvest window before flushing. Instead of the traditional flushing I usually just water with 1-2 tablespoons of molasses / gallon for that period of time, but i do use soil... pretty sure it works the same for hydro.
