My first grow just getting started

Well follow is a setup that I recently aquired, im simply awaiting the seeds in the mail, in the next couple days im going to hook my carbon filter up to the ac vent right next to the set up. Its in a utility closet on my balcony. I have 16 pots in the system right now but I calculated that you can fit double that into the container. Now i realize I dont want to add to many because with that much limited space it might put added stress on the plants, but how much do you guys think I could add in? I'll post more pics as I get the seeds and things start to develop.

Well being my first grow i learn something new almost every day. Anyways I was wondering when I would be able to sex the plants, tell if they are male or female. There are two different plants and I know the system looks like overkill, but most of my seeds got smashed due to poor packaging and crappy mail system so i'm going to have to pull clones off these two. Quick question at what point are the plants big enough to start trimming off limbs to make clones out of? The ph of my water is about 7-7.3ish is that about right? and right now they are getting almost 24 hrs of light, and the system is set to run water about 20 minutes every 2 hours which is what someone recommended to me. about what temp should the room be in that im growing in is my main concern. Anyways any hints to any of that or any pointers would help a bunch, thanks.

Hey hairyredbud, when grown from seed they'll preflower. It usually occurs after the 5th or 6th growth node. You can do a search on preflowering in the forums and you'll find plenty of info on how to tell. There are some good pics of males in my thread if you need some photos. I wouldn't take any clones till you can tell what's what, it's a pain in the butt when you clone and find out they're male. I think your ph is a bit high, not sure on the ph for water culture, but I think in a Ph range of 5.5 to 6.5. In hydroponics, the nutrients are often kept at about 5.5 because the plants absorb the nutrients slightly more quickly at this Ph. You may want to cut your light back to 18/6, too much light will stress them out IMO, and actually slow down growth. Room temps should be from 70 to 85 with the light on. What are your temps now? Take some pics out of your cab, so we can see what color the plants are.

I lowered the ph to around 5.5-6 and its helped alot, I also cut back on the light which is saving me money and appears to be growing the same. I also added a fan to drop the temps to about 80-85 when the light is on. I have a raft system, and im watering them about 20 minutes every 2-3 hours when the light is on. I was wondering how often should I be changing the water/nutrients? and should I ever put just water w/o nutrients in between? im in the middle of cleaning but in a minute i'll take pics of the plants outside of the cab so you can see what they look like, they are doing awsome. Both plants are female, and im about to take off 10-15 clones from each plant. Any input would help a bunch.

here are some updates, the first two are of one strain, the third is of another, and the fourth are both of them together. one is flowering faster than the other, but the fist one is about halfway through flowering.

it took a month...but god damn thos elook awesome. how much did that table system cost and how hard was it to use? the grow looks amazing man im jealous haha

I got the whole thing, nutes, pots, light balast everything for about 900 dollars. Its pretty simple, the water storage is underneath and just uses a pump on a timer to flood the box every couple of hours for about 15-20 minutes. As it starts to bloom more some of the initial big leaves are drying up and falling off, is this normal? Yeah the reason it took so long is because I let them grow to big before i started flowering because I was trying to get clones unsuccessfully. I finally decided fuck it and i'll do better on my next grow straight from seeds.

so I woke up this morning and my bulb was out, took me a minute or two of checking on my plant before i realized it lol. I was soo pissed off, but turns out the bulb is under warranty so i just spent the cash i planned on spending on the bulb on nutes lol. i'll post some more pics in a couple days, the smaller one has started to flower a bit more, but the big one looks about the same.

Here is an update and I have a few questions if people would leave some input i would appreciate it a lot. I'm receiving a bit of burn on the tips, i'm thinking its nute burn i think the PPM are a bit high. What should they be at during flowering. I'm using GH flora grow, nova, and bloom just following the directions, as well as a bit of flouralicous. However the buds seem kinda small, they have been flowering for about almost 6 weeks. Is there something else I should be adding, or not adding? What helps increase the size/potency of the bud? is it all genetics? because there is resin on them but its not all over like i see on alot of other pics. If you have any suggestions for me let me know please I would love some help to get better bud. I also just ordered a bunch of nirvana seeds for my second grow which i should be starting about mid time next month so i want to have this shit down before I start on that. I'll update in a couple weeks before I go on vacation
