My fan Controller

G

Guest

Well i run the extraction fan 24/7 even during 12/12, the fan is a bit more than i need when the lights are out. So i bought a fan controller switch and put it in the box and wired it up really i just want to make sure i am not doing anything dangerous.

Thanks for any input!

Good luck with your grow! ~neilspotshop

fan controolers r very nice/neat BUT if ur fans was designed for single speed operation
the use of a speed contoller will potentially shorten the life of ur fan motor, usin the controllers on single speed fans heat up the fan's intenal components and makes them fail sooner than the expected life of the motors design.
many folks use them so dont be scared, just be aware you are trading off years of fan life by usin one!! no "dangers" to you so to speak!

the wiring of it is very straight forward, ur pic looks like you handled the wiring part ok
just close the box up and try not to crush/pinch the wires.

too late now but the best solution would have been to install a 4" bathroom extractor (£12 from b+q ) just for night use ,,
