My experience with Espoma Garden Lime

Hey everyone,
I just thought I would share my experience with this product I found at Home Depot for like 5 bucks. I am a first time grower and I knew I wanted this dolomite lime stuff everybody keeps talkin about, but had no idea where to look or what exactly I was looking for.

So if you check out my first grow, you will see that I have 4 plants that will be cut on SUNDAY, HURRAH!!!!, Anyways, I had this runt that I didn't transplant into a bigger pot because I only built the grow box for three plants and I didn't want to waste time and soil on this little plant if it wasn't going to make it. Ya kNow what I mean.

But, I couldn't throw it out so I left it in its little starter cup for like three weeks and it was only 2.5 inches tall. Then it grew more and I decided at that point it was going to survive so I transplanted and I used this Lime stuff I found.

I bought it after I had already transplanted the other three, and I even asked someone about it and they said it was a bad idea. But of course I was having problems w/ cal and mag def. and I decided to mix it in the soil w/ this runt just to try it out.

ANd guess what, That little runt got big, and fast and was by far the HEALTHIEST plant in my box. It still is very healthy lookin considering how far along in bloom it is. My other three girls have lost almost all there fan leaves and this runt is a better, brighter green color too. No rust spots, no problems at all.

Well check it out:

My friend said that this is for an outdoor grow and it should be used like a month or two in advance to get the dirt ready for growing. I now disagree!

Before Transplant @ three weeeks old:

After transplant into soil mixed w/ epsoma lime, 2 weeks since last pic:

6 days later:

8 days later: 4.5 inches in 8 days!!!

AND NOW!!!

Well I just think this plant has come far, and for as healthy as it has been, I want to credit this to espoma lime stuff!

Peace and Good luck,
DRKN_MNKY420

P.S. I posted this on another thread already, but thought more people might want to see this in its own thread. Sorry.

Espoma anything is good. I know someone who has been into gardening for like, 40 years, and she swears by the Espoma range. Nice old lady. :)

I'm dying to try Epsoma's Sulpomag (sp?)
Most would agree it's organic, obviously some won't.
To me if I can recycle the soil and don't have to flush then it can have a place in my garden.:hotbounce
What's it say on the back of the bag with regards to content?

Hey Suby, Stupid of me not to post the content. Sorry.

I am unfamiliar w/ sulpomag, but if it is good, I will get some. What purpose does it serve. Sounds like Sulfur/Potash/Magnesium. LOL. I am still new to all this shit.

Anyways, you seem up to par on your organic stuff, why did someone refer me to PBPB and Liquid Karma if it is not fully organic? I am confused, it says organic on it. And I am not planning on flushing heavy w/ water, just feeding my plants water for the last three waterings and Molasses of course.

Sulpomag is actually exactely what you think it is lol.
That lime looks like a blend but I might be wrong, it says dolmitic lime on the pack but calcium carbonate levels are high.
I use plain old 100% dolomite lime, I don't like large amounts of carbonates in my soil.

PBP is organic based and NOT 100% organic or OMRI listed, it has a slat fert component which is why it raises ppm's, LK is an awesome product and it's the only thing in a bottle I still use.
They suggested it because it's brainless, it makes for some good herb but with a little brains you can do it 100% organic for less $.
No need to flush with organics unless you've overdone liquid ferts.

Peace

Hey everyone,

Suby: so if I am using PBP and LK and Molasses, should I flush? I was not planning to, just 3 doses of water and molasses at the end.

mtnjohn: thanks for the post man, I had no idea they had a website w/ all of those products. I did notice that they sell stuff like urea and some ammonium sulfate stuff. Those aren't organic? are they?

Well Suby, I did find the stuff that you mentioned earlier on the website, I think they called it Epsom Plus (sulpomag). Looking at the bag of Garden Lime and Epsom Plus, would you use both of them together or just the Epsom Plus??? Would that be too much Mag, they both have it???

I am going to see if they have any at my Home Depot where I got this Garden Lime. They had like 4 or 5 other products on the shelf, I just didn't look very hard.
I was lookin for dolomite lime, which the only thing I found that said dolomite lime in the ingredients was the espoma garden lime. LOL.

Anyways, it looks like they have enough variety to put together a very complete soil mix. Just add perlite and some plain top soil to a blend of their products and you should be set. RIGHT? But which ones would be the right ones???

They also have a bunch of plant food toners??? Which one would be the best for marijuana? Look at the product guide under plant food and you will see 10 different one.

Thanks, DRKN_MNKY420
