My DIY CoolTubes.

Hey everyone.

Nothing super special here. I bought some pyrex bake-a-rounds and followed Zandor's DIY on theGrowReport.com. I thought they turned out well.

I made some quick cheap reflectors out of SuperTuff insulation. Hopefully I can get the summer temps down a few degrees. I bought an AC unit but need to make some extra room on the circuit before i put it in.

just wanted to show them off.

What size bulbs are those? I've heard that bake-o-rounds don't flow enough for a 1000w HPS because the bulbs are to restrictive in the small b-o-r. What's the inside diameter of them?

fknbzn, the od is 3.75". not sure what id is.

They are 400w bulbs. I think these bake-around cooltubes will work fine with up to 600w bulbs. The 1000w seem too long and i wouldn't put a 1kw in there.

They work great with my 400s though.

Those 400s look pretty good in those tubes. They actually look smaller in diameter than the 150 I use. I also like the TUFF board reflectors, nice idea.
