Undeniably solid genetics in my non-hybridized CPR 🔴 Colombian Punto Rojo 🇨🇴 coming through even indoors in Oregon USA.

If you want to work Punto Rojo into your lines make sure of thr veracity of the genetics. Know your breeder. Make sure you are working with UNWORKED lines, otherwise your pissing in the wind and denying yourself real magic.

I have several packs of the Cannabiogen Punto Rojo and Mango Biche put away. Older lines worked by Kaiki. He was a solid breeder and one of the reasons these lines are still around.
Although I appreciate and totally respect the man hes one of the main reasons YOU and many other people have/had exposure to PR which alone is worthy of merit nevermind the years of work improving and modifying these 'strains' but thats as far i'd go. I think its funny the way people think that it takes someone from the outside, a foreigner to come and "save" or return something thats always been ours. Its a very colonial mentality. This is non-hybridized, unworked, unimproved CPR🔴 Colombian Punto Rojo 🇨🇴

yes and..? I'm sure there must be a point to your comment somewhere, regardless i'd definetely love to meet the guy. I personally think that the best, biggest and most beautiful Mangobiches i've ever seen are CBGs, grown out in Spain by a what I can imagine is a mutual friend.

unless you are a native south American, aren't you involved in the colonialism as it were? although it's all mixed up now, cultures/race and everything in-between. not criticizing, and I see your point and appreciate it for sure. also, cannabis is not native to Columbia, it was brought over by colonizers. just making an observation. by the way, your country produces/produced the pinnacle of what can be called extreme Sativa's. the most beautiful varieties in my mind, keep it up!

Yes I am Colombian (and also descendant of those same colonizers as well), don't let my perfect English fool you lol and yes, Colonizers did more than kill natives and move slaves. My comment still stands, history can attest that Cannabis has been in S. America long enough, specifically in Colombia to have become part of our national identity. So someone claiming that one person is partly responsable for "saving" a 500 year old plant is ridiculous geographically, historically and genetically.

Brillant thread Lugo. I have CPR in the vault too tried it a few times, but think I was running for too long so more sedative stone, or maybe i didn't let it cure enough.
How would you describe the High. And plz continue to document your result. Really nice work.

Cheers.

Well there are too many variables involved in any grow (from the genetics themselves and beyond) for me to even comment on your grow.

As far as the high, its a zippety, very high-speed yet clear-headed high, creativity is stimulated to the point ideas have to be put in order they come in so fast. Gives you ability to do many tasks at once. Mentally and physically. Everything becomes a dance. Great for athletes, creatives, gamers, writers. Its a very Zen, mindfull high that allows you to focus on the here and now. Its a fairly long lasting high. SERIOUS appetite stimulant. Ive heard 'Sativas' described as "soaring and ceilingless" and this is exactly that. Also good for romance no joke, really it makes any activity more pleasurable, intimate and important.

Also i'd love to know where/how did you acquire your CPR? I'd love to see some of your work with her. It can be private if you prefer.

Indeed and your spot on. Could be the enviroment, the cure, the growmedium etc. I have heard the same info om the High as you write. The other grower in the cannabiogen forum says it's like comming to church, which i often get from many cultivars, or should is say the one I prefer. But really love the way u describe her spirit! Make me wonna set up a date wirh her again :)
Have tried a lot more thai, which to me also vary in potentcy like all landracrs does. Had a experience where I was codriver and felt like we Where takeing off in a spaceshuttle, - so womderfull felt like a 8 year old again.

It really doesn't need any "improvements" if you ask me.

I'm a big fan of Colombian landraces. A few years ago I grew some F2s of CBG punto rojo x CBG mangobiche, and while I enjoyed them all, one (of six females) was outstanding. It got better and better with a long cure, to the point where three years after harvest it was simply perfect weed in my opinion; smooth smoke, great old-school aromas and flavor, and a soaring, euphoric long-legged high. Sticking my nose in the jar was like opening up a time capsule to the 1970s. Here's a picture of a bud from that plant.

A couple years ago I grabbed two packs of CBG punto rojo from what I believe was their last punto rojo release. I'm planning to do a selection run and seed increase this summer/fall. I now regret that I didn't also get a couple packs of mangobiche; I wrongly assumed that it would continue to be available. I also struck a deal with Luis at the former Brazilian Seed Company in 2019 for a couple grams (~200 seeds) of his old punto rojo seed stock, understanding I'd likely have problems getting them to germinate. He sent me 20 seeds and they were all duds. I have read some very good things about BSC's punto rojo though, which is why I tried.

@Lugo, can you give us some info on how, when and from whom you sourced your punto rojo line? If you read Red Rider's Colombia thread he said that commercial punto rojo in Colombia disappeared and was displaced by crippy in the early 200s. From what I can tell, there's so much outdoor crippy being grown in Colombia that there's a high likelihood of fugitive crippy pollen contaminating what few landraces may remain.

Well I personally wouldn't bother crossing PR with MB although it is probably delicous. In my mind it would be polluting a 'pure' PR line and undoing another (MB) it'd be going backwards basically. Regardless you did a really nice job with that btw.

As far as Luiz well I'm more concerned about his health and what became of him. Unfortunately he has/had a bit of a dodgy rep but if people understood how difficult and sloppy our mailing system is here in S. America I think they'd understand.

So my CPR 🔴 is from my own collection going back almost 30+ years. Still have the original baseline seeds of PR, SMG and MB (of which I have 3 going atm from regional outside lines) and as far as the doomsday theory about OG Colombian lines being gone are concerned, don't believe the hype. Those that don't know, teach lol unfortunately for the consumer most old school lines being offered are really worked, polished and basically hybridized lines a bit off (if not far off) from the original and something else entirely. Not something you'd want if you really want to taste and experience the original and even less if you wanted to include it in your breeding program.

And yes, there is something magically
unmistakable in the nostalgic smell, taste and high of these original lines!

Below is the first picture I ever took of CPR, mind you it was not my first plant, getting film developed was very risky, this was developed in my HS darkroom lol

I'm familiar with them, they do some pretty interesting work with 'landrace' genetics. I have some of their genetics and am looking forward to growing them out. Some really interesting crosses. Up to now any of their Punto Rojo crosses should be based on my PR regular line, although I haven't seen any, but you know how it is lol I really enjoy how my 'Colombian country mouse' genetics do indoors in the big city. Outside of the aforementioned I am not affiliated with or work with Energenetics outside of possibly sharing data on lines ive acquired from them. Which is what your expected to do.
