what up IC Mag. Just thought i'd post some pics of my latest grow and first shot at hydroponics.
Strain: "Colombian Red" from clone
25 plants in a 3'x3' American Hydroponics Ebb and Flow table filled with Hydroton
Light: 600W Digital HPS + 400W HPS = 1000W
feeding schedule: during day - 15m on, 30 min off
at night - 15m on, 90 min off
Nutrients: Pure Blend Pro Bloom, Hygrozyme, Cal-Mag, Floralicious

solid settup...but im sure you didnt need me to tell u that. really your first hydro? plants are currently 35 days into flower? keep us updated on how this goes, im "considering" hydro...

the smell is of sour lemons and diesel fuel.
this strain is supposed to take 10 weeks in soil, so I suspect itll take around 9 weeks in hydro. she still has a lot of growing to do
ps if youve grown cannabis b4, and feel you have some sort of scientific inclination, hydro is really a breeze

Hi foxygrower, I live in Colombia and I've smoked and grown many varieties of Colombian "red". I can't tell from your pics what variety you have (nice plant though) but the lowland or lower altitude reds are very strong and narcotic and take forever to finish. I don't care for the high/stone from these lowland varieties as they seem to knock me out much like an Indica making me feel "wasted" and not high. However the "redbud" or what I call redbud is a high altitude grown Sativa that has a soaring thought provoking effect that is also very euphoric but by no means racy or paranoiac in any way. There are many variations but these are the two classic examples, the bottom line is red is good. Enjoy your fine lumbo.

Sorry I should have clarified. I received this clone from a FOAF who said it was the best pheno from a pack of THC Laboratories "Columbian Red"
The friend who sent the clone said it was the best plant hes grown in the last 7 years

it makes Jojo's trainwreck look like mexi-brick...and that is NO SHIT!!! HONEST!!!

The high and taste is almost IDENTICAL to the commercial columbian we used to get as a "staple" in between shipments of the Columbian Gold... no, it's NOT the GOLD, ...BUT... it's the CLOSEST thing TO IT that I've seen to date!!!

..70 days and you are DANGEROUSLY over-the-line... we are talking getting FIRED from work for being CLEARLY OUT OF IT.... SUPER PARINOIA because you KNOW you are stumbling around like a drunk fk in the 7-11... LOL!! It's ALL THE FUN I remeber form the OLD DAYS!!

It's SOOOOOO DAMN good... I will NOT smoke it until I'm safely home and PARKED for the evening!!! I'm no rookie... I don't NEED to be told when I have something BIGGER than me ahold of my ASS!! ...LOL!!!

I CANNOT recommend the C-red highly enough...words simply fail... IF there is a strain of ANY description that can honestly compete...I am totally unaware of it.

You have a very nice Colombian cross and I say cross because no pure Colombian finishes in 8 weeks. However I grow outside in Colombia so I'm sure running them inside in hydro is a whole different ball game allowing the plant much faster growth. All the local (domestic) Colombian Sativa I have grown takes no less then 16 weeks to fully ripen some even longer. My ColombianXAfghan cross will finish in about 10 weeks but the pure ones take forever. The ColombianXAfghan cross also seems to take the high in another direction then the pure Colo but its still very good just not the same. Still you got a killer plant and I know you will enjoy her. my friend said he let his go for 10 weeks, so hopefully I have a sativa dom pheno. If not, im sure it will still be great smoke.

Looking great, Really healthy plants! I am growing some Mod Bx which have a bit of columbian in there. My more sativa pheno has shown red stalks since early veg.

In the picture looking up at your lamps in the shade you appear to have 1 hps and 1 mH what make and wattage are the lamps.
Are these the lamps you have used from start on this grow.

The reason I believe it's a good Affie crossed in and not skunk is the fact that the buds DO get fat and chunky and resin covered... all not usual for a pure sativa.

I only have one problem w/ the description, however:

I know that comes from the breeder; but MY preference is 10 weeks from the time the lights go 12/12... I find the added time allows for additional fattening and weight gain in yields.. AND... IMO, the high and more importantly at that stage, the taste and smell really comes on strong!!

Don't get me wrong, I tried it at 56 days and it was PLENTY strong but I didn't get that unique colombian taste... going 70 is the WAY to go, IMO... but your tastes my vary..

Have fun ... and DO cure it carefully.. this one is WELL worth the extra nice cure!!

Absolutely, without a doubt.. bar NONE I've tried of the modern strains.. THIS ONE is the very best, IMO!!! (and I've had just about everything worthwhile)....

Really, my only loss due to some recent problems in my veg room that really bothers me a lot is the C-red ... and surprisingly to me.. some Rosetta Stone I just tried for the first time... the RS was UNEXPECTEDLY very, very, good smoke... top-shelf, IMO!! :tup:

Fortunately, I have a bud that I shared both with who will "re-clone" me soon... we are supposed to hook up in a few weeks...

..nice work foxy... we'll see how I do because I decided to ditch the dirt and re-tool for MY FIRST hydro... LOL!! ..im gonna be a TOTAL newb again!! :rofl:
