my Church clones are wilting!?

Took these clones on march third. cut em with clean knives, dipped um in Olivia's rooting gel, then planted them in rock wool cubes with water adjusted to a 5.5-.8 range using some vinegar. I didn't let the cubes sit over night, just for a few hours. since then I have had them under 2 warm white cfl's at 13 watts. humidity dome and all. I splurged and watered with a little liquid sea weed and some liquid karma. Now I'm just misting them about once a day. No watering really, the cubes seem to retain a lot of moisture. they don't look great to me, kinda pale and the young leaves are wilting. compared to a cutting I stuck in a coffee mug with plastic wrap for experimenting, the ones in the humidity dome are doing crappy. Check out these pics tell me what you think. what can I do to improve my babies? :petting:

are they getting light atm? if so how many watts?

before the roots punch out of those rockwool cubes i wouldnt give them more then max 60w of light. do not turn a growlight on cuttings without roots, a regular normal room light is enough.

also i suspect that you are using straight tapwater to water them, you should adjust the ph in the water to 6,0 also be very attentive with the temperature which should be 22degrees centigrade!

Alright. I had (2) 60 watt equivalent CFL's on them, but since reading the post I reduced it to (1). light is more subdued.

right now i'm using filtered tap water that is NOT ph adjusted to mist. The water at my tap is at 7.5 ph or even higher. I've only watered once. I'm just worried that because it's been almost 2 weeks and no roots are showing

you should drop that ph down to 6,0 and see if that does it. it could be a combo of too high ph and too much light on them. i suggest you only use the one 60W light and put it atleast 3 feet away from the plants.

how are the temperatures?

Yes the RW is very alkaline at first, plus the tap water, ph is much too high.

Change out the cfl to cool white (6500K). Warm white spectrum is for bloom. They will stretch under warm white.

They don't look that bad, actually. Clones usually start looking dumpy before they root. They have too much foliage on them, that's for sure. Too many leaves to support with no root system, those leaves are transpiring moisture but the plant cannot replenish without roots. Cut all the larger lower leaves from those clones, leave only the top two nodes.

Try the humidity dome over them. This will help with moisture loss but offset the dome on the tray 1/2 inch so the two ends of the tray have a crack for fresh air. This will minimize the chance of rotting.

Temperatures are off. If I pick up one of the clones by the cube, they feel cold. not anywhere near 70 degrees. Thing is, I was keeping the closet warn with some of the excess lighting in there. Now that I've cut that back, I have to go pick up a heating pad. I guess my grow schedule will have to be pushed back a little. Hey it's fine to pH down with vinegar right?
