My cali-o harvest

How long should a cali-o plant take to be fully ripe outdoors? It said 8 weeks on seeds direct, but it will be 8 weeks next monday...
The resin bubbles are still white, but getting quite dense. What do you reckon ?
I'll try and get a photo of it, if someone can tell me how to do that...

Are the stalked resin glands white as in cloudy? You are looking for a degree of Clear, Cloudy and Amber. If a fair amount of the Lower trichs are amber and cloudy in the mid section the bud is probably done. Cannabis grows from the top of the shoot so the very top trichs are the youngest on a bud and the ones at the base are the oldest. The tops could decieve you on "doneness". I harvest when the percentage is about even between the 3 that way I reach the desired level of "done" after drying and a slight cure. Now for the kicker. Different strokes for different folks. My idea of "done" may differ from yours and every other grower on the planet. Test a couple of nugz soon and if they are acceptable..... harvest. If they taste like green tomatoes and only give you a racy buzz and not a real high let them go longer (unless you want a racy type high and weed that tastes like green tomatoes). I hope this helps. Peace Herb

And furthermore, what's the best way to take a picture of a bud with a digital camera ? I can't get any details with mine; it would be nice to have a picture of the resin on the bud, so if anyone has a decent tip ...;)

last time i did cali-o (the a-77 version) it wasn't ready until mid-oct. this was in my backyard desert garden and exposed to high temps throughout the summer.

on a side note...anybody know if there has been any discussion on temps regarding maturation time? i am constantly running into earlier ripening dates from what the breeder statements call for but only with the outdoor garden and have been wondering if possibly the long exposure to 100+ degree days could shorten the flowering period by 10-14 days. all the signs say the sweet tooth and a few other indi-doms are close to being done or are ready now...but they're not supposed to be ready until mid-oct. this has happened with them year after year but i've never seen any mention of it anywhere. the sativa's are much closer to the breeders' dates however.
