Well I really don't know if anyone around likes my music but i'm positive someone does around here.

Currently my Term Pro DB meter is hovering around 126db and my Crown amp is getting a little warm.. the 6 Polk Audio RTi 12's are fucking breathing great and I havent blown an ear drum or the tweeters.

Previously my 2 Monitor 70's would fry their tweets with my older QSC gx3 when levels reached 101db. that sucked.

Either way.. im cranking out some Sammy Hagar -Heavy Metal, then switched up to some Supertramp and Greatwhite.

What do you enjoy to do when your alone and feeling like those Beatz head phones just arent enough.

BTW.... O.S.H.A. lists a recommended exposure level of 125db to less than 15minuets before temporary hearing impairment is possible, thats why I love my remote control.. turn it up more when it go silent... lol j.k

Well, in my house I run a 15" RE XXX in a 17cuft sonotube with a 8" aeroport on a Crown 6000 watt amp, can make anything in my house flex to the beat. If I go full tilt, it dims the lights in my house with every beat...

In my suv, my doors have 2 10" proaudio speakers, 4 6" Morel mids, and 4 morel tweets, with a Zed Audio Leviathan running 1000 watts RMS to each door...
The subs are DC Audio xl 15's, on a sundown 3500, running at one ohm. 2 XsPower batteries and 4 runs of 1/0 guage that run under my suv to supply the juice...

Never been metered but im much louder then when I used to compete, im sure I am in the 152-155 db range...

We listen to just about anything, into dubstep and 80's music at the moment...

OMG... a RE XXX in your home??? That my friend is inspiring ... it reminds me of my sub wall at Circuit City when I would play all the display 15's MTX 9500's hooked to a 3 daisy chained 8100D's.. it was a little tiny force to rekon with from the guys in home audio.. =)

I would LOVE to hear that system.. my god im not sure how I didnt pop wood reading your cars sytem.. hahahaha!

I might as well just pull out the RCA boom box cuz suddenly mine feels inadequate hahaha.

Took out the polk speakers and just picked up some Cerwin Vega xls-215 These are pretty freaking loud and super clear bass that makes you breath to the beat. haha

Good times although I only crank em when the new addition to the family is away. Cant risk damaging the delicate things in life.

Either way... I hope you all are still thumping tunes at reference levels.

I loved it cranked up when younger myself. now I find myself saying "WHAT? speak up, asshole!" a lot. temporary deafness turns into permanent a lot quicker than you might imagine...a good bit of my problem was caused by extensive exposure to gunfire though, in all fairness. that, and straight pipes on an old Sportster...:woohoo:

Just picked up two Crown XTI-4002 amps and still running the dual Cerwin Vega XLS-215 speakers and added a cheap Seismic Audio 18". Im not pulling quite as much as your 6000 but I can only run these amps on the dier line with a converted plug as each one of the xls-4002's can draw 32amp on 120volt.. not going to happen on a standard house line.. haha so on 240v im pulling roughly 16amp from each at max but my speakers cant handle anything near that at all.. Im loving that 1/0 wire though, cant go wrong with enough flow!

Well I play bass on a 350W amp and 2x12" SWR speakers and if I don't use my earplugs while rehearsing I can notice hearing damage almost immediately afterwards lol - an accoustic drum and 2 electric guitars on single stacks as well.
If you guys are talking 6000W is that RMS and how the hell do you use any of that without blowing the drums out of your ears???

Well I doubt the coyotes and deer mind my music much.

Course, even when you crank up the stuff I listen too it still sounds like music..

Bob...Jimmy, Jim, and the gang.

My wife does hate it when I play ironman on my electric guitare tho..

DA...DA....DA.DA.DA......DA DA DA...DA DA...DA...DA...

bwhaha.

Between that and Ben Harper...im surprised my wife hasn't thrown my guitare out into the pond.

Our amps are some of the upper end of the power range for amplification however mine is rated at 1200 rms @ 4ohm and 3200 bridged, the other members crown amp is much more powerful.. but yeah not full till 6k.

Simply put, 6000watts in a arena size room wont sound loud at all, 6000 in my house sounds insane and hurts at times. 6000 in a car done right is definite ear damage. Also every speaker is different, subs take more power than tweeters as their surface area to vibrate the air is much larger than a 1" silk dome tweeter.

So.... your 1000w bass cabinet might not sound as ear splitting loud as a 1000w full range speaker where that power is sent through a midrange and tweeter allowing more of your auditory system to take in the wide range of music stimulating more nerves than just a single tone.

Also.. all speakers handle power differently, just like light bulbs. incandescent makes lots of heat and low light output, clf better and led the optimum energy usage. So one speaker say 120db would sound multiple times louder than a speaker with a sensitiity of 89 given the same 1watt of power at 1 meter away from the driver.

Either way it gets really loud... lol
