Anyone here makes their own beats?

I got a laptop with a music keyboard and i run Reason version 4 as well as Ableton Live 6 and Fruity Loops.

I make all kinds of DANCE music.

I only started few months ago and havent got any decent releases yet, im still studying Reasons Users Manual which is like 500 pages long.

Also i got couple of books on dance music production.

When i finally release a tune or two or three i will add em here. Others do the same and show your work in this thread :joint:

I use to have fruity loops. I did a little (Very basic) music theory research, as well. But I'm not all that good with it. I want to get it back

well I'm a bit old fashioned and still use a real mixing desk
but I do record to hardisk using Cakewalk sonar for multiple tracks and using my synth drums
or Soundforge for just stereo mix, but most of my mixing is of guitars or bass tracks etc
I tend not to use any computer effects or loops etc
this is my studio 16/32/4 that I use for recording

I have 2 Studio masters that I use for live work as well

Ah, the real mixing desk....I was fortunate enough to learn the old school way on real analog gear (real 2" tape!!!) in real pro studios...now everything is a digital facsimile....

With that said most of my work now is DAW based sound for video, ProTools, Acid, SonikSynth...I am looking at the MOTU 828 and SONAR at the moment

My prize piece is a 1981 Sequential Circuits Pro One that I just had restored and I love it!

My next piece of gear is a Korg R3 (on order - just waiting for the keyboard stand to come in) that will double as a midi controller for all the soft synths I have.
