multistrain sog with 1000w and a lightrail

Hey guys...
Long time since i've posted anything...but...
I've been reading the forums for the past few years... just stayin' incognito and renewing my knowledge
...I still remember the good ol' days when overgrow was still the no1 spot for growers and like minded people... that was the time i started my hobby as a grower, and am grateful to all of those who encouraged and helped me along my path

Since than i had some problems, with which growing probably wouldnt help...

its been a long time coming ...but now im back...
brand new setup...brand new strains... just wanted to share my new toys with you guys.

I have a new space 1,2mx 2m, height is no issue thnx god this time

1000watt phillips son-t with a light rail

450m3/h systemair fan for drawing air from the room and a normal 40cm freestanding fan for air circulation in the growroom.

54 plants in square 6.5 liter pots
5 strains: Cheese(Ghs), Diamond girl, Crystal white(spliff seeds), Master Kush(spliff seeds), Northern Lights(spliff seeds)

Some strains have been tested already, some have not...so im just gonna have to see how it works out...

The plants are bout 1 week old clones, cloned in water and than transplanted to 3inch pots for 1 week and have just now been transplanted to the 6.5 liter pots...

They were given half dose of a generic fertilizer for vegetative growth and are growing nicely. in the future i plan on fertilizing with plagron bloom(i guess thats cool?) also i have some pk 13-14 from canna, and plan on using it during the last few weeks of flowering... im kinda rusty in this subject,as it has been a few years since ive last grown anything, so i hope you guys can bare with me on this one, and help me a little.


Dont hesitate to comment or ask anything about my setup, thats what this thread is for...well that and for my silly questions

Very Nice.
My only advice, after using a light rail 3.5 for many years, is stop the lamp about 2 feet from the end walls so that the shaded/other end doesnt lack so much in lumens, and the ends still get full coverage.
So basically....only let your lamp move about 2 feet in either direction from the middle.
Theres no need to bring a 1000w lamp that close to the end walls.
Other than that....HAPPY GROWING MAN!

Thnx man... i was wondering how to set up the lightrail correctly....so thnx for the input on that also can you tell me to what time do i need to set the delay switch on the relay, i could do it by trail n error, but im always happy to listen to other more experienced users input on this subject...
...also one silly question.... how far should the 1000watt be? couse i was used to dealin with 400's, and have no idea what is a safe distance for a 1000 watter.

The girls are progressing nicely, way better than on the 2x400w that i used to have...
will post pictures of hem tomorrow.

Without an air cooled hood w/ glass.......I would say 24" minimum on a light mover.
I would only allow the lamp to delay at the ends for about 10 seconds.

Ok thnx...i guess my estimations were about right after all im gonna try to put it lower tho... i think the other growing parameters (such as height of the space and humidity and ventilaton) are in my favor...

here's some new pics also... they're growing nice, bushy and shorth like they should be
So far the ones i like best are :Crystal white and master kush, also the cheese is looking promising.

Plants growing strong..- the 100watter is still at the same height, so the plants now at bout 20-30cm from the light (wasnt expecting it to work this close, but am guessing this is due to the fact that the light is on a mover)

..now they've reached a point where im wondering when will be the best time to flower...

...and when (if) is the time right to cut the lower branches to ensure maximum growth at the main bud.

What are your thoughts on this 2 subjects?

i was planning on flippin them to flower sometime in the next week, but have heard that its best to cut the lower branches about a week or so before flipping them to flower...this sound about right to you guys?

I would give the clones about 2 weeks - 20 days of veg time and then flip to flower, since they are so tightly packed in there. I wouldnt top them at all. I would also take off 1/3rd of the bottoms the day before the flip. Then after they stretch and start flowering rapidly, Ide check the bottoms 1 more time and take out any shaded bud sites that wont amount to anything.
If you notice that there arent any really bushy/branchy plants and they are growing pretty tall and slender with very little side branching, you can veg abit longer, stake up the plants, take 1/2 of the bottoms off, and get bigger top colas.
Its all at your discretion. Whatever suites your needs the best.

Sorry for the delay, but had quite a lot of work, so it was kinda hard for me to stop by IC to make a post...

yeah i hear ya OvergrowDaWorld.... did almost exactly as you said...bout a week ago i cut most of the lower branches and rearranged the plants, so that the ones that were a bit behind are now exactly below the lamp and the bigger ones on the sides so that the canopy forms a nice concave shape... since then, they grew like crazy, and are now bout 30-50cm tall...

in the past week they were fed 2x with a full dose of some generic veg fertilizer, which has prooved to work out just fine

Today is about three weeks into veg, the place is packed, and today is the day they go to 12/12...

How would you guys feed them... i got canna flores, but dunno if i should start feeding them flower ferts now, or when i notice the first buds...or somewhere in between? what are your toughts on this?

The way you have them......Do you think bamboo stakes, string from the cieling, or a net trellis over the top, may help hold up all the colas?
I wouldnt feed them anything unless the plants are asking for it.
I only give my plants a small amount of nutrients. Only when they show that they need it.
For example....If the leaves get light green I give them abit of Nitrogen.
Ive found that plants respond well to feeding them ONLY when they ask.
Remember....less is more.

I dunno if i should use it or not, if i use it i cannot rearrange the plants (to even out the stretch of each plant so that they form a nice concave canopy again), but if i dont use it theres a risk that the plants will topple becouse of their weight... and now im in a dilemma... to use or not to use

Yeah i know the feeding schedule is on the heavy side... ...maybe im oldschool but im used of blasting them like mofo's

I hear ya. If you have to move plants around to flush in the tub or for stretch/rearranging purposes, a Net/ScrOG wont work. Maybe Bamboo stakes cut to size?

I used to feed my plants the entire calander/schedule of Fox Farms nutrients, including the tri-pack of additives. While using FFOF soil.
Ive found that the smoke is ALOT smoother and the flush much quicker and easier, when I dont use any nutrients aside from Cal-Mag+ every-other watering.
Ive only fed my plants lightly 2x this grow. I find it difficult to flush properly when I give them nutes.
Heres how my plants look 4 days before harvest. Hope you dont mind me showing these pics in your thread. If you do, I will take them down right away ~

yeah probably it depends also on the size of containers you have your plants in and some other factors too This time im gonna go with the safe way (feeding them the way i used to) as i dont have the luxury of going wrong on this grow but for the next grow i will most definetely tale your advice and just go with 2-3 feedings per flowering

nice grow show.im not a fan of multi strain grows myself because of the uneven canopy and offset harvest times....but it awesome when you have like three different smokes to choose from when your done....

Havent had the time to take the pictures, but the girls are doing great...they're about 50-65 cm tall and have filled the place up like a mofo Will post pics tomorrow...

I have another question... my girls have gained quite a few side branches, i guess the removing of the lower branches 2x wasnt enough... what are your toughts about me cutting some more branches at this stage? the plants are 3 weeks from 12/12 and have started showing flowers bout a week ago...

I would def keep cutting off bottoms. I never quite cut off enough and end up with abit of flarf. Cut the bottoms so theres only 6 nodes to the top of the branch when it starts to flower. This way, when it stretches and grows, theres not a ton of bottom flarf.

AlterEgo, yeah i've been rearranging them so that a concave canopy was formed, which is exactly what you are talking about...

Also...yeah OvergrowDaWorld, i took your advice on the sticks for support, and have bought some 3/8 inch PVC tubing (the grey solid) thats otherwise used for electric cable insulation...got that at a fcuken bargain price (0.3E or 0.4dollar per meter) so only 15 euros spent...
compared to the PVC tubes ...cant believe how fcuken expensive simple bamboo sticks can be, if you're not anywhere near their growing habitat...i get those for bout 1.5eur per meter, and that for me is a fcuken ripoff!

Today im gonna cut the tubes to lenght and stick them in the ground...afterwards...smoke a spliff and take a few photos...havent had the time to do that man...was 2 busy workin on my shroom grow.

I keep taking off bottom stuff the plant doesnt need 4 weeks into flower, so ya, your good.
It actually helps them alot. Dont worry, it wont stress your plants.

ive been looking for the right shroom spores and shit to start doing that myself.. honestly I just want to be able to go to festival and eat some mushys and not have to worry about being fucked. or getting sick.. or some BS..... im really against anything that's not grown by some1 I know.
