Multiple plants, 1 rubbermaid - 8 weeks of progress in 1 day. (currently flowering)

Hey all, stopping by to share with you my grow in progress.

They've had a rough start. First few weeks they were in some dirt for my backyard which became compacted causing stunted growth. Things got much better once I transplanted them into a proper medium. Basically been smooth sailing ever since.

I've grown 1 plant previously, but it turned out to be a male. That is why I planted 5 this time . I ended up with 2 males and 3 females.

I have a small grow area, so I wanted to make good use of my space. I was going to just get some square pots, but I couldn't find the ones I need at the store. This is when I thought of the divided rubbermaid idea. I already had the rubbermaid and plastic window lining so it was worth a try given my low budget. It's kind of bulky, but besides that, couldn't be happier with how it's working out.

Here are a few details for you.

Lighting: Veg 6x23w CFL 20/4 - Flower 150w HPS + 3x23w CFL
Grow Medium: Peat moss/perlite/compost mix. Around 2.5 gallons per rubbermaid section.
Food: Fox Farm Happy Frog Fruit & Flower 5-8-4 (top dressed with it a few weeks back, was their first feeding)
Strain: Unknown(bag seed)
Budget: Practically non-existent (total spent thus far: ~$110)
Training: Topped each plant once and did some basic scrogging.

I've been trying to keep updates on a weekly basis, i'll leave you with what I have so far.

Comments, questions & suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

-Budderball

I've come with your weekly update.

We are now in week 3 of flowering(since first pistil). Things are going pretty well it seems. Looks like the stretch is officially over. Finally... I'm tired of adjusting the lights every other day. Buds continue to thicken and I've seen a definite increase in frost/sugar/crystals or whatever you want to call it. Not looking as frosty as some other peoples bud, but I can't expect the world from some random bag seeds.

Been trying to keep them as close to the 150 as possible, around 5-6 inches. The big girl is showing some minor heat stress on the leaf fringes. I'm not too concerned though...she's always been fussy like that, yet she's doing the best. If it gets worse i'll probably back off a bit.

I got half decent pics for you guys this week . Not much else to report for now...so i'll just leave you with the goods.

Taking you out with a bong rip...

Peace.

Thanks guys. Was starting to think there was no interest in makeshift bagseed grows around here:tongue:

Here are the latest pics...

Taken yesterday, day 26 from first pistil.

Peace.

P.S. I'll get some more bud macros up pretty soon so you can get a closer look.

on some of my plants ill use a 15 gal tote to grow in, 100% coco and no drainage.

i have a piece of pvc buried that has holes drilled in it and 2 upright pieces that extend above the surface of my coco.....this allows o2 to get to the root zone.

i vegged 2 p98 bubba kush's for 45-60 days then flowered for 65 days and they were healthy all the way to chop.

w/o getting runoff i could only do so much regarding a flush......i quit feeding and used a florakleen and i couldnt notice a diff but ill do me a side by side where i flush w/runoff to see any diff.

thats really interesting about the pvc, ssh...i noticed my boss has a few of these not in use in his garage so i asked about them..he has them in all his outdoor beds (non cannabis) he is 76 years old and loves his gardening :) is florakleen the same as final flush, i assume..? 15 gal tote would be the way to go!

I just drilled like 75 quarter-inch holes on the bottom haha. Had no need to flush yet, but it seems to drain fairly well. That PVC idea sounds pretty cool, I'd like to try that out some day.

I think I have at least 4 weeks left on these girls. I'm going to start giving them some Molasses next watering, hope it helps ;) I'm sure the microbes in my soil will like it at least.

peace.:rasta:

Hey dont think bag seed is bad, I only see it as someone failed at growing, and hopefully you get a good female, or fem seed from a sack. Far as the tuper ware tub it works great, but I use all organic, and the older the soil the better it feeds so far, I am on my second set of plants which roots are growing out the bottom of the pots, so I placed em on the soil bed instead of transplanting working goood.

For your happy frog granuals top feed useabout mid way thru flower, and cover that with worm poo, good job!
