Muling across the BC border

I preface this post by making clear that this is just for entertainment purposes and that there is no chance in hell that I will ever be doing anything like this. I am disabled with arthritis and could not do it even if I wanted to.

That said, I've been thinking that it would be a cool stint to run bud over the BC border on foot. Get a huge backpack full and run a marathon through the Rockies for a big payday. I'm sure it's very stressful with the risk involved since that's Federal stuff but there's something kind of romantic about doing something crazy like that. It's just so ****ing ninja.

Anyone know how much weight the mules typically haul over at once, and how much they get per trip?

hope there's no problem discussing this, it's nothing LEO doesnt already know

meh, I feel like the numerous disclaimers take it from thermite down to probable/possible.

People do it all the time. Wintertime on sleds is a popular method. With a border that vast, and unpatrolled, Border Patrol has set up motion detectors. When they go off, the nearest agent checks up on it.

I remember a story about an apple orchard in Vermont that basically straddled bot sides of the border, and people would make dashes through that. Look up Canusa, canada, or vermont. Main street runs right through both countries. There are also countless unmarked logging roads that wind back and forth through them.

People think of all kinds of ingenious methods to get it from there to here. I have heard of people at logging companies sending logs down the river that are hollowed out and filled with it, mixed in with all of the other normal ones. How about all of detroit's garbage goes to canada. You know how many garbage trucks must pass back and forth everyday? How much you think gets smuggled in those, even if you ignore the fact that "waste management" is a mafia run operation?

Here's the rub... You're absolutely right when you say that they have seen it all before. Don't get any ideas. No matter how many times you and your friends get stoned and hash out a plan to make yourselves rich.

STAY SAFE

I can carry 10 pounds over on a good day, depends on how much stuffing I can pull out of my ass.

see the problem with this is you have to get involved with seriously large scale operations in oder to make bank doing it, so either you need to get involved with some sort of organized drug ring or you need to start one yourself, either one is a good way to either get killed or ratted on and busted.

definitely not something to make a career of. i've heard that the avg mule carries 40-80 lbs, 80 being about the most they'll carry if on foot.

when people take sleds its usually a bit more. IMO, you want to carry as much weight as you can if you're gonna do it so you can make as much $ as you can with virtually no increased probability of getting busted (i.e. 10 lbs on a sled vs. 80 lbs on a sled. both weights under 100lbs but enough to put you away for quite a while. the difference is you make a lot more on the 80 vs the 100

some of the big ways that people know about but no one really stops have already been mentioned. people have tried to run mini-subs before. I always thought it would be worthwhile to get an ultralight, take it up to canada, pick up 50 lbs or so, fly back over the border with the ultralight, drop into a lake or something for a partner with a boat or just parachute it to a truck. I think the drop into water is safer because the bag won't burst open unless its really weak.

you have to remember people taking boats across the great lakes, commercial truckers taking it as part of their loads, etc.

I'd rather grow it inside the borders and not have to deal with crossing into another country.

I read that story a while ago, it was a great read. I don't know how true a lot of that shit is, b/c I find it hard to believe this kid made 38 million dollars in like 2 years without being detected. A 19 y.o high school drop out pizza delivery kid buys an 8 million dollar pad in San Fran, and nobody notices? I doubt this kid was proficient in hiding his earnings from the IRS.

Smokin on that serious...
people scuba dive with chronic across the saint laurence rivers all the time, alot of people air drop it from cessnas onto indian reservations that dot the border too...
