Hey everyone
After three or so months of lurking, asking newb questions, building and spending hard earned $$$$$. I've finally finished my closet :woohoo: :woohoo:
So I thought I would post it up here for everyone to see because of course I can't show it to anyone else and if it wasnt for the great community of I.C. this wouldnt of happened!!! oh so bittersweet. I was supposed to move over to the netherlands for a few months for some work but that fell through so now i get to grow instead.
Here we go.......

I had two single closets sitting next to eachother in our walk in closet and after some careful convincing of the other half i managed to get permission to cut these up and turn them into a humming white marijuana machine. :sasmokin: so.......

this became ...........................................this.

First i cut out the middle partition that were keeping them from being one with a handheld jigsaw and put a 2by4 across the top for some extra support. I then patched it up with some masonite and spac filler.
I installed the 6 inch 275cfm RVK fan you can see in the picture on some regular shelf brackets with some insulation foam as a buffer in between them and the wall to stop any vibration noise.

I've got one passive intake and one active intake which uses this old bathroom exhaust fan I found.

and as far as light traps go I just got some 90deg angle PVC and painted the insides black

Sorting out ventilation issues took up alot of my time just sittin around thinking...and thinking....and thinking as im sure everyone here knows about when it comes to setting up their grows.
A friend lent me his ozone generator because he's not growing at the moment so that saved me some cash and time.
There was already a vent in the cieling in our walkin closet, which seemed perfect and I was originally going to vent out there but then I thought out the possibilities -
*workers coming to the building noticing smell, hot air etc
*the possibilities of it leaking somewhere i didnt know about
*sending noise uppp into other peoples apartment because sometimes i can
hear the neighbours dog barking through the venting.
In the end I decided it was too risky to send all the exhaust air up there and came up with an idea of boxing the area above the closet up, venting out a hole i made in the wall into the hallway and using this boxed up section to clean the air with ozone.

Before and after boxing up the top of the closet.
Heres a diagram of how I ended up cleaning the smell up, I know it looks a bit confusing so ill try to clear it up.

Air gets sucked out of the closet and pushed through a homemade muffler to kill the noise

out into a little section with the ozone generator in.

It then mixes with the ozone before going out the vent in ceiling or out the hole in the wall where it dissipates in the apartment.

The hole in the wall is up behind the suitcase so you cant see it at all in the hallway

There was a space in between the closet and the wall which was perfect for a small clone and mother room, so after some questions in the micro forum about lights and reading through some microgrows I figured hell why not.
So I took the scrap wood that I cut out from the middle of the closet and built myself a pretty little mother room

and

underneath that a clone room.

I bought a 125w Econolite and reflector off of ebay for the mothers and two 15w fluros for the clones. Im using good old computer fans for ventilation in these two rooms and on the test runs i had temps sitting at 26C\80F.
These areas both vent into the same area as the main closet and are cleaned with ozone through a hole in the roof of the mother box.

Im plannin on keepin two bonsai mums in there take some cuttings and veg\flower them out in the main closet. i just wish i had some space for a seperate veg room but i guess you cant get all you want. :moon:

Well after that all that was left was to paint it and get some seeds in the mood :joint:

Heres the finished view from outside.
I wish i could get some better pics for you guys but its quite tight for space inside the walk-in so i cant get a decent shot of the whole thing. Hence the sketchups etc (thanks to thescissors for bringing this program to my attention :joint: ).

I've got some Northern Lights and some Blueberry germing now so keep your eyes peeled for the grow thread!!!! it'll be in my sig in a day or so.

Last of all guys I want to give you all the biggest thanks  , especially those of you who helped me with stupid questions. I honestly wouldnt have been able to get this thing done without you all and I'm hella glad I stumbled upon IC. The people on this forum are great and always willing to hand out some help.

Peace :joint:

hey growmez ! nice one mate . you may want to read up on ozone generation in the living space though because it can be poisonous .... we used to use them (o3(ozone) generators ) in fire restorations to deodorize structures/contents and it was very important to ventilate the areas before entering (suffocation danger i thinks).please check it out . for it may be just as well to use an ionizer in the compartment instead . sorry for the bad news . may it work out for you healthfully . . many blessings , hidingtree .

I have to agree with hiding tree. I just did some research on Ozone and it can be harm full at levels above 50ppm or something like that. I would not use ozone unless I could vent outside. I would say you should look into a carbon scrubber in place of that muffler or something of the sort. If you do some reading I think you will find some stern warnings about health issues and ozone. But it sure does work well for smell if you can exhaust the air outdoors.
Their are many forms of odor control. I use 2 carbon scrubbers and 4 Ionic Pro units placed around my apartment. They all help to remove the smell. If only i didn't host chong fest's that smoke out everything.

The trick is to figure out a way to hide your scrubbers if they are in your hall. maybe put a small book shelf in the hallway to hide the scrubber on the shelf and have some room to work with, that wasn't pre designed into your cab. Put random nik nacks on the shelf and maybe a small desk fan on top to cover up the noise.

A Vaportronic might suffice for your odor needs. It's a little battery controlled scent unit that will cover up to 10,000 sq feet (or so they say). It works well for small grows. Here's a pic of mine:

I use 2 of optional 5 discs and it works very well for my 250w. I'd say it's probably enough for up to a kw.

Very nice cab btw!

Hey guys,
thanks for your encouragement and concern! I've read alot about ozone gen's both on I.C., Cannabis culture and on other non weed sites. Yeah, I know about the health risks, which let me tell you do really concern me, but after alot of questions(as usual hehe) and research Im thinking im goin to risk it as least for this first run and just see how it goes. Think of me as your human guinea pig guys!!!
I am going to definetley look into the vaportronic though!!(as a matter of fact im googlin right now to get some prices) and as far as carbon filters, ive got the DIY's bookmarked and it is a plan for the near future, even found some cheap plpaces to get activated carbon from here in sweden.
Have to say this little project has wiped my money out a wee bit and my girl is starting to stop sayin yes everytime i need something for the closet hahaha.

Reason I got the ozone generator is simply because it was a freebie from a friend and both he and his mate have used it in a few grows without any probems. He is actually in his last stages of becoming a doctor so that is also
reassuring.
Thanks again guys I do take all your advice to heart and appreciate it all. :joint:

Ozone Is the some of the same stuff that cars exhaust. It's just not good. It can also be harm full to the plants. It can cause lung problems (or worse). It is important to remember that when ozone is used it will clear out any thing that smells. But should be ventilated very well after words. Kind of like a bug bomb but for smells. I have 4 Ionic air cleaner's and each one of them put's out ozone. Thats one of the reasons i'm posting on your thread. I just don't want any unneeded harm done to fellow growers.

yea i would stay away from the ozone. its has a smell all its own and since your trying to be discrete a very distinctive ozone smell doesnt help at all. it harms people it harms plants... just isnt good at all.

cheers badgr. im lookin into gettin a vaportronic for now, and then ill build a carbon scrubber sooner or later. i hope one of the other reasons your popstin on here is cause you think im a great guy.hahahahaha
howd you end up hidin those scrubbers of yours? im about to pop over to your thread and check it out.
peace

You know your a class A badass. I am all ways looking through your thread and posts. I ended up hiding them temperamentally by using random clutter but i'm still going to go ahead and do a shelf with some egg crate boxes with the scrubbers hidden inside of them. I had a little mishap last night when I was trying to finish my flowering chamber. I broke one of my pyrex cool tubes! oh well guess i'll have to buy another one. too bad about the ozone. Just remember that those vapotronics don't remove the smell they just cover it up.

shit man that sucks, i loved the way you made a double cooltube....yea i know the vaporteks just cover it up. im thinking i might just buy the discs for one and construct my own case for them. by the look of them they are just holder for the disc with a little fan to spread the smell, cant be that hard to DIY one.
either that or make one of the bubblers with pinesol.
I like the idea of the egg crate shelf dude. should be a winner :joint:

That's a lovely clean build dude - really shows how far a bit of planning goes...... :joint:

What was the programme you used to make the diagrams???

Good luck with the grow :)

That's a great looking room you've got my friend...congrats on all the hard work.
It looks very clean and inconspicuous.
I only wish I could have convinced my (ex) partner to let be cool with growing. That simple will never be an option in her mind.

Anyways, like the others, I'd be a little concerned about the ozone lingering around in your apartment building.
I quickly looked up some information on Ozone (03) and it's respective half-life, and found some interesting information. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA), the maximum acceptable concentration (MAC) a human is allowed to be exposed to ozone for a certain time is 0.06 ppm for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

The ozone molecule is very unstable, oxidizing with all kinds of materials when the charged molecule passes over others. It also has a short half-life (thankfully, in this case), of 12 hours. This means that 12 hours after being produced and exposed to the open air, it will be 50% degraded.

According to a few websites I found, at 50ppm, 30 minutes of exposure is expected to carry fatal consequences. i.e. LESS IS MORE (for your life).

If I were you I'd be very concerned of where that ozone is traveling, and look into a small scrubber along with that vaportronic unit. I think a combo of those too shouldn't set you back any more than $100 (if you were to build the scrubber yourself). $100 for piece of mind and health :chin:

Good luck with everything you do. You look like you put a lot of time and love into that room :joint:
