I am moving in a few weeks a fairly large distance away (about 800 miles). I have a large stash and am trying to work out a means of bringing it along.
I can either pack 'em in the car or mail them. Regardless, the packages will be vacuum sealed multiple times with a solvent wash in between and some cedar for packing. Some argue that there is no way to fool a dog. I disagree, but would prefer to take every precaution even if I am wrong.
A lot of talk has been done about mailing very small amounts but not anything larger. I don't know the practices of shipping companies with medium size packages. I don't think I should worry about sending a moderate size package (1 - 2 ft) anymore than sending a large envelope or small mailing box like many use for small amounts. The thing that worries me most is the box being opened by accident (damage, etc.). I know USPS can't touch it unless they have a warrant. Anyways, any tips on packing it to avoid damage? Also, does anyone know anything about the practices of shipping companies with boxes? What would this thing look like going through scanners?
Driving isn't the worst... but I am paranoid. I am a law abiding citizen with no record, not even a traffic violation. I am clean and do not appear associated with illegal activity. What I'm worried about are dogs. Unfortunately, the U.S. supreme court ruled awhile back that dogs may search without needing a warrant or even probable cause. Honestly, that scares me. If a cop can keep me around long enough and is bored and/or a dick he might pull that. Also, I don't encounter LEOs too often but they make me nervous even when I have nothing on me. Just natural I guess.
I appologize for the lengthy post. I appreciate any help in posts or pms. I'd hate to get rid of my hard earned green.
Take it easy.
