Moved grow from closet to bathroom

Whaddup IC. My morning started around noon when I awoke a lone rider in my place, all dogs asleep, and walked weary eyed to the new B-room where I have some babies germinating. I looked inside my tubberware and saw no less than 3 tails yellow white like big roots are. :woohoo: Woot!

I get to do the final cleaning to the bathroom today, despite my not having my panda poly yet. I originally had my light (400w switchable HPS/MH, currently hps) in a poorly made box, my first woodwork, from decemeber til the other day, when I remembered I could grow pot! :yoinks: See, I had a grow in my closet box, but it ended sadly :badday: much like that, yes. I could salvage the box, and grow in it in the future, but the bathroom sounded fresh, it had A/C feeding right in, although no exhaust , still, I quickly threw in my drywall hangers and tied the loops from there. Light on the ceiling, fan on the wall. I'm setting the carbon scrubber on the sink top, dont wanna trust the ceiling here that much.

I still have to mount an 8 in honeywell fan, and the poly, yet to be purchased.

Hmm, a small problem. See the picture with the fan, and the little outlet below? That outlet has worked fine for the last 4 days, but when I tried to plug in after a super thorough clean attack, the fan nor the light will come on. The electric strip I'm using just doesnt light up either.

The plug closest to the bathroom runs 'em fine. I checked the breaker box and nothing had thrown. Is there some saftey precaution I need to take here?

do you have a milti-meter? you can use it to check to see if you are getting voltage from the plugs. if not then more than likely one of the wires has become disconnected or melted in the worse case...

interesting setup, I have sen some impressive stuff done in bathrooms. I don't really know what is wrong w/ your electric problem but someone on here can I am sure :D

That circuit may be on a ground fault interrupt switch. Look for a small switch in the middle of one of the outlets in the bathroom and cycle it off then on. If that doesn't work, kill that circuit (at circuit breaker) and check the wiring.

its got to be the wires...if you check out the pic closely there is no gfci on that particular outlet...

But the GFCI could be on a different outlet daisy chained to protect the outlet in question (all of my outlets and circuits in my kitchen are GFCIed, from only 3 GFCI switches <three circuits, all ran after the GFCI, so all are protected>) After a heavy duty cleaning, water in an outlet would be my first guess. But it very well could be the wiring.

No gfci here

No gfci here

Sorry, no gfci switches seen in this here place. I do have 20 amp circuits though and dont understand how I might have 'troubled' those? It seems most likely to me that it was affected by water and/or cleaning suuplies. I went hard-core across the room, was slinging water and cleaner with no remorse. Well that bites, I'll probably grab an extension cord to run from the surge protector that way it looks a bit smoother again, and there won't be shit just hanging.

Here's a secret though, I saw more tail last night and stuck 7 bagseeds into 7 (tiny) cups of FFOF. The bagseeds are just to help me get watering down with this soil while waiting to send off for some Nirvana strain, most likely the powerful ak48(any one think I should get something else? speak now or forever wish you had bought it yourself!)

Thanks guys

If the circuit just quit, and all the breakers are on it has to be on a GFI circuit. It doesnt have to be in the same room it could be an outdoor receptacle

Old breakers in a main box often go "soft-off". Basically, the circuit breaker trips, but the lever will sometimes not get thrown all the way over. As a result, when you open the box to check, everything looks OK. Identify which breaker the outlet in question is on. Then, throw it hard on - off - on. This will often clear the problem. If water in the outlet was the cause of the trip, use a hair dryer plugged into another outlet to fully dry it out before trying to clear it. When doing so, remove the plastic cover from the outlet, but do not touch or move the receptical itself.

^^Yup...I've seen that before. Gotta turn it off then back on to reset it alot of times. If that doesn't fix the problem, then you've probably got a GFCI somewhere on that circuit before the outlet you're using. By code any outlets within 6' of a water source are required to be GFCI'd...but the first outlet with the actual GFCI may be on the other side of a wall or in another room.

Map the circuit to figure out all of the outlets that are on it and start checking them 1 at a time with a lamp or a voltmeter. If an outlet in the middle of a run failed, then it's entirely possible that all the outlets after it went dead without effecting the outlets wired prior to the bad one.

Also from my experience after a breaker has been thrown a good many times it will be be fubar'd and need replacing. No way to know till you get a meter out and start tracing down the problem...

Thanks all for the suggestions. I haven't yet taken more steps to find out what's up with the circuit. Seems I moved out of the closet right on time. I had my light on and my AC cranking to 69-70 overnight and the next day it went out :sasmokin: So I've had maintenance in and out for for the last hour and a few times last night. Turns out I need a whole new unit :chin: I like that.

But those boys were in my closet flipping breakers. I'm glad I wasn't flowering when this happened!

After I get my a/c all setup I'll see if I can find the breaker its on and flip it, I'm sure thatll do it.

The plugs now work, I think the breaker was thrown I just didnt notice at first cuz it's the bottom one snuggled up against a yellow test button. I got power again, and fresh a/c. I just hope I didn't leave anything for maintanence to be suspicious of.

Thanks for the concern guys. Great place we got here
