ummmmmm.

Usually, moving to get away from trouble, means the trouble follows.

Fix the problem.

Then do what you want to because it is what you want, and not running away from shit.

Then there is the old saying, burn the bridges behind you.

Competition is tight, but if you have grown and understand illegal market - the legal one operates about the same, only buyers have several choices - at least. The whole point of legal was to open up new markets, because there was no shortage of medical MJ supply and limited growth upside. The mass producers have started to gear up already.

Big money is trying to corner the market, sorta like cartels. Allot fewer dead bodies so far tho.....

And remember, here tobacco sells for $4-6 dollars a pack - I'm pretty sure cannabis could be produced for about the same cost, so it's possible, the price will continue to drop. At least to the grower. Better make that probable.

Yeah come to Cali....let's see how much we have going for us;

1) Largest single DEFICIT of ANY state in the US (and MANY countries)

2) Unemployment still at 7.5% (and MUCH higher in cheaper area's to live)

3) One of the HIGHEST income and tax rate in the US

4) Market FLOODED with cheap, mid-grade outdoor (right now) and indoor, Oh did I mention you BETTER damn well have your marketing down PAT bish or your going to be waiting on a 90 day consignment at the dispensary and that's AFTER he/she beats you up like a red-headed step child on your Triple AAA Fire indoor/outdoor prices.

5) Some of the HIGHEST PG&E rates in the US (SO you want to be a big indoor grower I run 3200 watts and my MONTHLY power bill is right around $950+) You can buy a house in Michigan for less than that

6) I think other's mentioned the incredible amount's of "cartel" gang outdoor AND indoor grows from the likes of; Mexican cartels, Asian Gangs, Gangs in general looking for fast money, oh and their boo is always with the "patient" in mind ( I'm being totally sarcastic here, they use all the nasty grow nutrients PGR WHATEVER to get it out the door and into cash)

7)Why don't you just go onto Craigslist and SEE what it COST's to rent a decent 2 or 3 bedroom house (hell even a STUDIO apartment) here in Cali.....I bet you will go "WTF???

8) Do I even NEED to mention what we pay for gas here? I went north yesterday to pick up 3 packs, paid $3.45 PER gallon and that's AFTER gas has fallen over the last month and a half.

Edit: Note...living cost's for everything here are much higher, food, clothing, DOG / CAT food...you name it, it will cost a lot more here, just something to think about. By the way I just watched a news piece on the price of Milk here in California, their talking $8.00 per gallon of milk in the next 2 years...$8.00 BUCKS per GALLON!

9)Yes PLEASE come to California, then I will buy YOUR slightly used hydro equipment after you cannot get a break even price for your medication, run out of money, cannot find a job and move back in with mom or dad. I have been doing this for 3 years , talked to MANY growers who just gave up, and then I use the equipment to build out my next grow...lol I love hydro equipment at 1/3 what it cost's new!

Honestly folks California is VERY hard to make a living in, I've listed where you should try and start a legal MMJ business(and you better DAMN well treat it as a business if you want to make it). I would suggest the following states in order of best to worst;

1) Michigan
2) Washington
3) Colorado
the rest....

and at the end .....California

Good luck and I know some of you will still come, their is one IC member who is riding a bicycle with a little trailer for his dog in the MIDDLE of winter to come out here...LOL..gotta love determination..that will help him once he get's out here.

Marijuana will never compare to tabbacco, atleast not in my lifetime.

I didn't say that, but when R J Renyolds converts tobacco fields to pot - what will happen to market value?

I've only know 1 hobbist tobacco grower in my life - because it's easier and cheaper to buy commercially grown tobacco. Cannabis is no different - other than the legal problem. As soon as that's not an issue, who is better suited to step into that business?

I've been wrong a lot lately. I didn't think Colorado would legalize. I was sure if they did, the feds would clamp down.

Maybe I'm wrong about big business taking over.

I am hoping it will be more like Budwieser & Coors vs the Micro Brewers.

But I suspect that's the last thing the Big's want.

come to california. tons of opportunity. people hating on california are the same people hating on life. lets face it, not everyone has the will or desire to succeed. the most successfull outdoor grower i know is not even from this country. comes every year as a "tourist". i love this place and its really not very expensive to live. so haters continue to hate and ill continue on my way........

No offense to Cali but if there were 3 East Coast states with same laws/rules as Cali,Washington and Colorado people wouldn't be moving over there. Cali is a nice state though don't get me wrong but once more states have the same laws and stuff people won'
t be flocking to those states.

Its expensive to grow in Cali and the price has dropped quite a bit. If you know people its easy to get in the game but if you have to try to find connections, beware. Good luck to you.

I have some law and other problems in my country and I consider that jurney as a grower with few years of experience. Curious about your opinions.

Please think twice about coming to California, no jobs, MOST expensive power rates in the US, oh did I mention housing (even after all the foreclosures) are stupid expensive and RENTAL rates are spiking if you think renting might be a "cheaper" alternative...welcome to Cali.

Please do not come to California.

Lol damn no offense but u guys sound crazy ..it's like ur trying to "keep cali" to yourselfs ..what are u guys so afraid of ? Lol ..u make it sound like your giving a warning or helpful advice but sunset just proved it not like that ..he doesn't even talk to people that haven't been there for yrs ?? Lol smh ..

And all I have to say is cali is a walk in the fucking park compared to NYC remember that ! ..
U even seen 30 sq ft go for 4k a month. ? U ever seen a 150 sq fr apartment sell for a half a million ?? Lol ..we have more cops than ANYWHERE else I the world ..and we're not even 10% the size of cali ...there is no MMJ here just MJ lol..all those "loopholes" u guys have don't apply here ..and I still love it ! ..

Also why is this misconception that everything grown there will be sold there ??? C'mon stop it ..in all honesty I would not need Cali as a market ..and my MJ will probably never see that state so all this flooding talk is for those who try to use MMJ as scape goat to make a living ..if u had the balls to try other markets u wouldn't e saying tht ..one mans trash is another mans treasure ..

1. you're right. i am kind of nuts. that's why i fit right in here in socal.

2. i jest though. it's truly lovely out here. kinda tough to cut it in this game if you're shit isn't on point six ways from the ace though. wouldn't try to deter anyone from coming out. but if you're coming here from overseas with the express intention of making a living at cannabis, there's plenty of places you'd be a better risk not to wind up working in the service industry or bumming money for a ticket back home in 6 months.

3. i'm an east coast kid myself. and i remember when nyc was actually dangerous. before rudy turned the place into motherfucking disneyland. when you could go to a rave at limelight, kick it with the punkers in tompkins square, cop dope anywhere in alphabet city, and get your ass whipped by someone other than the goddamn cops. sure, manhattan has always been expensive, but who the fuck wants to live in manhattan anymore anyway?

I'm the opposite of Sunset Ltd....I DO want to keep Cali all to myself, outsiders GO HOME!...was born here, don't need any flat-landers who grow bunk beaster weed here...yes I'm a hater and a playah......I'm the guy who purposely keeps gas at over $4.20 per gallon, I also LOVE that PG&E keeps their electricity rates on a tiered system so indoor grower's pay threw the BUTT for electricity. I also make sure that NOONE pays or hires anyone for anything more than "McDonalds" wages or work.

I'm the one who voted the politicians in to have THE HIGHEST income tax rates and corporate tax rates in the WORLD so as to NOT stimulate the economy and make it extremely difficult for new companies to form and hire people at a decent living wage...I;m the one who took out mortgages like candy and BLEW the whole mortgage industry the fuck up and now we still (4 years later) have a incredibly large "shadow" inventory of unsold homes held by banks so as to never let the price of homes appreciate at all for the next decade, yep that's me!

(Tounge in cheek a bit here folks) Have a nice day!
