Mountain Jam!!! Preliminarily...

Now fully cured! whoohooo!

Much continued thanks and love to JLP for providing us access to bomb-ass genetics.

Keep in mind that this smoke report is based around nugs that have only been cured for less than a week. Further reports will be required as the full flavor profile and stoniness emerges a few months from now.

Mountain Jam nugs aren't particularly airy, but I wouldn't call them dense either because of the fairly low calyx-to-leaf ratio. You've really got to get in there and trim because there's just a shitton of leaf matter even in the bud structure itself. This might also because I had to switch my hours of 12-12 from morning to night because people were viewing my house for potential leasing. :yoinks:

A blue tint is finally starting to appear on some of the drying nugs, and i'm guessing this tendency will continue to come out. Buds are very crystally, much more so than strains i've grown in the past.

It should be mentioned that I picked my nugs at 58 days. The trichromes themselves were just starting to get cloudy: I like my weed much headier than stony, so I figured with this somewhat indica-leaning pheno i'd be happier if I picked earlier. God was that the truth!

The smell of mountain jam is wonderous, truly fairly representing its blueberry heritage. I would be misleading to say that this smells anything other than 'fruity' because thats primarily what it smells like but there are also hints of skunk in there too. Really reeks up the room when you crack the jar.

To be specific I would pin down the aroma to blueberries and blackberries, with a strong and almost overwhelming lemon aroma. I also catch hints of candy, gum, taffy, etc.

At this point the taste is fantastic on the first hit and acrid from there on...but this is all about the curing (and lack thereof). When she first got mostly dry my buddy and I couldn't believe how good it tasted already...just like fruitloops and blackberries. I suspect time will make her drool-worthy...I hope. Notable, but not noteworthy expansion in the lungs.

The first thing you notice about Mountain Jam is that she gives you an incredible rush of adrenaline and euphoria, much like a haze. I wasn't expecting this at all, and it was a majorly happy surprise. I am instantly overwhelmed with the desire to get outside and enjoy the classic stoner desire to be out in the wildnerness, even if I nearly froze to death in the process. I'm also struck with the itching desire to be crafty and get things done. Instead of working on the project I was supposed to be, I went into the growroom and remounted my light. Go figure.

Quite quickly, the headiness subsides into an intense stoniness. Distinctive auditory enchancement/hallucination. Feels like the sounds in your head are outside of your head, and any amount of talking/noise seems loud, weird, and somewhat uncomfortable. Reminds me in some way to some of the more stimulant-like hallucinogens. I love this as a musician and enjoyer of music too, because everything seemed somehow bizarre and new all at the same time.

By this point, you are well on your way to Stoned-ville. There's a weighty buzz going on here, even picked early. I smoked one small bowl and stayed completely heady, but as soon as I cashed another one the physical and narcotic feelings of indica kicked in. Fortunately, the crafty desires and euphoria remained, so while I was fairly body-buzzed I wasn't at all couch-locked. You do get the desire for a dank-nap, though.

The most amazing part of this herb is that as stoned as you are - and that is very - you don't really lose composure. While I felt like my eyes looked heavy and puffy, I was able to not only give my presentation without stumbling up but was also able to simultaneously think ahead of what I was going to talk about and what I had already talked about. Your eyes may be seeing weird light-buzzes around the text but you can still read perfectly and make clear points.

All in all, I really enjoy this herb. It seems to straddle the fine line between stoniness and sloth. You can get way baked on this pot, but you will never have that uncomfortably heavy, couched feeling you can get with potent indicas.

Moreover, I like that you can customize your stone here. You can get totally thwacked with a body-buzz, or you can keep your creativity and motivation by smoking just a little bit. And the flavor of course is remarkable, pre-smoked its heaven and the bag appeal is just great. I'm interested to see how the taste and stoniness will change with increased curing.

The best part about this pot is that it seems very social and giddy without being addictive. Smooths social interaction without glazing everybody up into a stony mutedness. You feel inquisitive, positive, and reflective the whole time...which is really what I look for in pot.

Does reduce IQ to a certain degree (especially with overindulgence) and makes driving and operating heavy machinery difficult. The six-hour drive to St. Louis sucked balls after only one solar bowl.

I highly recommend Mountain Jam, especially because of its ease of growth. It seemed like nothing I did to this plant made it stress out. The other, sativa-leaning pheno I have is an altogether different story, though.

Plant was grown under 510 watts of HPS with no supplemental Co2 (goddamnit). Yield so far is about two ounces, and that's only about one-third of the plant. I'm using a multi-tiered harvest, and i'll be picking the rest sort of late (medicinal).

All organic: guano, castings, coco, molasses.

Thanks alot JLP.

A99 is on deck, will be cut in the next month or so. Talk about skimpy! But i'm sure it will be the headiest shit ever. I'm cracking Golden Skush tonight.

AND THE GRAND TOTAL IS:

112.5 grams! I'm pretty damned impressed by this...a QP of mountain jam, plus probably an eighth or so of shake-ass buds destined for bhang/food/potka.

Works out to be like a quarter gram a watt under 400...not too fucking bad at all. I'm stoned and will be for months now as we are not selling a single flake of this shit!
