Mother plant from female seeds?

I am looking at ordering some fim seeds and in the event that I like the way the girls produce I may want to make a mother out of one by pulling several clones and keeping one after the main harvest. Here is the question, with all of the talk about hermy traits late into flower with allot of the fim seeds is it counter productive to try to get a mother off of a fim strain? Since the seeds were stressed from the mother will they pass on that trait to the off spring. Has anyone had success with this? If so, what strains are you using for mothers from feminized seeds. I am really leaning towards Grape fruit.

its ok to keep mothers and grow fem seeds
crossing them is not ok, its called "pissing in the genepool"

the hermie traits where there before the stressing, the stressing was used to be able to make a selection based on the hermie trait... iow., the ones that hermie, will be kept and pollinated with themselves...

Take clones before going 12/12 and flower the seedplant,if the seedplant showed zero sign of maleness,I dont see why the clone would.

If the seed plant doesn't show signs of hermieism under normal conditions, her clones won't either.

Personally, I won't pay the extra bucks for feminized beans. I'd rather buy and plant more regular beans. More ladies from which to choose a mum.

Ive had no problems with hermies from my female seeds. I currently have two different mothers of Grapefruit and both are great. :D You should be able to find a good mom out of these seeds.

Yes, Skeletor I do agree with that way, getting normal seeds and so on, but on this time around I am pushed for time and have lost a 130 SQF room to the sister and law so I have to alter my set up for a while and if I can do this with the female seeds it will help. Thanks for the input everyone.
I tell you what I am a regular posting member on cannabis . -com and do enjoy the environment, but honestly I come here for most of my questions because the responses are so quick and the knowledge is, or seems to be much more abundant here. For every detailed grow over there, there is about 20 over here. Perhaps that is why I mainly post over there, to help out more and contribute to the new growers, but over here the information is so much and there are such a variety of experienced growers that I mostly use this board as my school.
Thanks again folks, and Skeletor you have almost always been able to chime in on my questions as you have for many others as I read threw the threads, keep it up, it is much appreciated. Adieu

Don't keep a mother plant after it's already been harvested. You need to take clones before going into flowering. It's very hard for clones to root once the 12/12 process has started and can cause weird mutations in the clones.

As far as the female seeds, i probably won't buy them anytime soon. I stay away from female seeds as they tend to go hermie and i don't need that in my garden. Not to mention the crazy prices on most female seeds. The only female seeds i may try will be from female seeds (the company) as they are cheap and i have heard decent things about them.

If you grow out a certain pheno that you want to keep and it doesn't hermie through flowering, then you might be ok although i believe the clones could still go hermie easily due to stress.

SI, those are some of my worries, but I am probably going to give it a roll and try. I would grab clones of each plant before flower it seems to work best for me and on top of what you said, they have a quicker rooting time when taken in veg. If I get some seeds I will get them from Female seeds. Right now they are the cheepest that I have came across.

yep they are cheap and look pretty stable. I've heard alot more problems with dutch passion female seeds and greenhouse female seeds than female seeds, which is funny because they are so much cheaper.

I think you have me mixed up with mtbr50 bro,I'm growing female seeds this time myself.Normally I do go with regular but I like the company female seeds, period.I'll have no problem taking a mom from different strains and growing clones out perpetually because I trust these female plants.
