Most "functional/uplifting/daytime" but also high-THC strains

Hello! As a friend of somebody fighting cancer it quickly became apparent to me that the cannabinoid profiles cancer patients want are quite different to recreational use. Ive managed to source some high-CBD/low-THC strains, which is important because she really needs to load up on CBD and therefore minimal THC is very important. But we also all know that THC itself is also a very, very important medicine and important part of the synergy, and while _sometimes_ it's nice to be able to "bomb ourselves out" with a heavy strain, especially after a hard round of chemo or with help getting to sleep, but for a cancer patient its important to get that high dose of THC but still remain as functional as possible throughout the day, ie as opposed to drifting off to sleep, and remember when they go into remission they're not necessarily just lying in bed anymore, and hope to live as normally as possible when and while they still can! so there is that real need there for these 'anti-fatigue/daytime' strains, which doesn't seem to be actively targeted on a big scale by any breeders yet, just one strain here one strain there.

Therefore im thinking along the lines of Cinderella 99, Apollo 11, which obviously are well known for their uplifting profiles and i've experienced them both myself, truly beautiful strains.

But I don't really know much else in that ballpark. I know HAZES can be good for this, but at the same time they also can take a looong time to flower, and time isn't something cancer patients have a lot of. Again the fast finishing of C99/A11 is great here.

CBD levels in the strain isn't a concern, because thanks to the high-CBD/low-THC strains she's able to "superdose" CBD as one medicine, but also wants to dose heavily on THC as a seperate medicine (therefore full control over THC:CBD ratio) as much as possible without getting too sleepy. (And perhaps something like Modafinil might also help there)

So I ask please for your recommendations for such strains, thankyou very much! :)

Hey sadpanda! How is the patient going to administer the consumption of cannabis? The choice of delivery method is going to effect the experience of treatment with cannabis.

Regarding strains with "C99", most of them labeled C99, are not crosses with the original filial generation of C99. But are more often then not, removed several generations from orig. release. Most people on these forums have not experienced "true? C99" or even an F1 outcross with the first generation and therefore define their experience of C99/A11 on
somebody elses reproduction of the names. Like skunk, white widow, northern lights, haze , afghan etc few inbred seedlines of the originals resemble the orig. releases in high, taste, effect etc. Like I alwas say :- It only takes one bad mating to fuck up a seedline and the following generation.

But since you touched on the subject of C99 maybe you should try Mosca Negras Mach Fly.
Not so much of his interpretation of C99 ( about 5-6 generations removed from the original by crossing Refeerman's And Wally's lines) but because it uses Mosca's cut of Warlock. Anything closely related with Gerrit's work is going to be decent and considering Warlocks somewhat truebreeding qualities you're going to get close to an F1 in Mach Fly.

My choice would rather be a clear headed indica/wld. Something with a heavy body load.My first choice wouldn't be something with C99. The duration of the high is the main reason. (I'd want something with the duration of Chimeras Fighting Buddah.) It's just to short lived in todays "C99" crosses. By the way, are we talking just seedlines or also clones ? I'm curious what answers your going to get regarding to strains and on combining administration of high THC strains with high CBD. Good luck.

Ace do some pure NLD varieties, they also sell Cannabiogen and Original Delicatessen varieties on their site.
The Malawi is a high THC strain as is the Golden Tiger.
Some of the Original Delicatessen flower quite fast for pure NLD and are feminised so no need to wait extra time to sex.
Good luck with the search.

Antenna Seeds might have what you are looking for.
Just grew the Purplelazerlite and am thoroughly enjoying it. It is pure sativa but manageable flowering times (8 to 10 week)
I find it excellent medicine, very potent, but clear head and for me most certainly has medicinal value. I suffer constant deep joint, muscle and nerve pain in my pelvic joints and lower back, having permanent hypermobility of my Sacroilliac joints.
my next Antenna grow will be headgames 3 and the twomp.

i am a big fan of DNA's "Cannalope Haze", reportedly a cross between Haze Bros. Original Haze and a Mexican Sativa.

short flowering time - i took it at 9 weeks but it could have been taken at 8.
yields well and has very compact buds for such a sativa dominant strain.
the high is pretty much pure head with no tiredness even after several rounds. perfect for doing stuff around the house. high also lasts somewhat longer than most strains.

i grew C99 before (Nectar Seeds) and was not satisfied. it made me paranoid and unhappy.

Cannalope Haze is everything i expected (and didn't get) from C99. took me quite a while to find a strain that suits my taste and growstyle so well.

I am very impressed with my Jalisco from Eskobar. Not speedy, gives you a 'floating in a cloud' feeling. 11 weeks flower. The Oaxacan is good too, more energetic and bright, 10 weeks. Dirt cheap too.

Very much appreciating the suggestions guys, please keep them coming!!! :)

Max Headroom thats very interesting data regarding Cannalope Haze re C99, thankyou! Ive heard about it on and off for years but its only just popped into the radar now due to what we're specifically looking for with my friends cancer situation. Looking at leafly's overview it even says "this strain is a great solution for fatigue", which gives me another clue to search for :) although wikileaf's overview says "But some users feel the Indica effects much more strongly and quickly find themselves looking for a place to take a nap." :( gotta love it when one site says its anti-fatigue and another says itll put you to sleep

Just in regards to C99, the C99's ive tried were GN Collection, FemaleSeeds, and Wallyduck pineapple F5. Ive never tried the original Grimm Bros, but the ones that made me think 'holy shit that's gotta be it' were in GN Collection, whereas the other two were more like "just really nice pineapple strains". This is ~10 years ago though. I did make some feminised C99s using the GN Collection, but today have only 4 left... nearly 10 years old, and im not in a position to grow them, so it'll be nervous trying! We now have different batch of FemaleSeeds, and also G13 to try, but i cant wait for the reborn Grimm Bros to get sufficient seeds out to more seedbanks (currently only two and both out of stock), as i dont think GN Collection is coming around again at least anytime soon and it would be great to go right back to try the real deal direct from Grimm Bros. C99 has always had a special place in my heart so it was like a son returning from war or something when they announced they're back. Apollo 11 also such a gem, as if pineapple C99 wasnt enough we get A11 oozing with limonene. Seems that Jack Herer's quite an interesting strain lol, never tried JH myself though

Jack for the anti fatigue win...

If you're considering The Bros Grimm, check out the 420 release thread.

There's info in there that may surprise you. If your looking for original C99 stock, you will not get it.

JH can be incredible if you find the right one.. but whenever someone reproduces seeds for their seedbank they will take it in another direction essentially locking out some of the stand out individuals.. you have to know what their purpose was when reproducing them, faster and heavier flowers or purity?

No Skunk #1 yet?

She’s got my vote. But mostly based on memories...

It’s been years since I’ve grown her, or smoked her, but she was always the go-to for weekend morning wake & bake and then get shit done!

Filling that position these days with my dwindling remnants of SAGE.
