Most efficient set-up

Hey folks, I have been using a closet as a grow space for the last year, but I'm now moving from my apartment and in with a friend who is ok with me growing as long as there is no evidence.

I've built a 3.5 ft x 3 ft box that stands 6.5 ft high. I have a thousand watt hps 2 400 watt mh and a 400 watt hps. I would like to make this cab as efficient as possible but never used such a small area.

Anyone have suggestions on how to set it up. I can go either soil or bubble buckets. Four buckets fit perfect, but will that get me max yield or will doing something like a scrog or sog in soil be better?

I want to hear how you guys would set up this cab.

That's right, NO ONE! It's been a whole 5 hours on a Saturday (or whatever, depending on what part of the world), and no one bothered to drop what they're doing to assist you in designing a growroom! How disgusting! If I were you, I'd promptly demand my money back under the "Quick Response, 100% Satisfaction" that ICMag offers...

Why not try reading some of these other threads, grow diaries, etc? They go into great detail about setting up an efficient grow room, ideal amount of watts, etc. Or would you rather be spoon-fed and cry when no one is around to do your work for you within 5 hours?

damn clowntown well burn i use about the same amount of space u have and heres a few pics of my setup its a sog in 2 gal bags i defintly wouldnt say its not the most effecient setup but i try to use my space to its fullest potential.

What size lights do you have in there Toker? I was hoping to get my 1000 watt in there, but I dont know if it will be too big or not.

they say 48-56w per sq ft is the best lighting. So 3.5x3 = 504w-588w would be optimal. I have a 3x3x5 box and i use a 175w MH and a 150w HPS. i plan on gettin another 150whps tho. as far as soil or bubble buckets that's all personaly preference. Some people will only grow soil some only grow hydro. See what fits your budget and go from there. Bubble buckets will give you great yield and great quality. but so will soil. I'd go to scrog/sog if vertical height was an issue, but since you have 6ft i don't see that as a problem. hope that helps.

buckets will add noise from the bubbles, sounds like stealth is pretty important if your living with someone else

i grow in a 3x4x6 box, same as yours..I do sog in 5" pots w/ a 400w hps...you could easily do 1000, 600 would be ideal imo but I make do with the 400

how are you going to be venting the lights? fans are pretty loud and could be considered evidence of growing, plus you'll have to use some odor control

my box is sealed up using black poly, I vent my light w/ a cooltube seperate from the cab, and use bottled co2 to bring my ppms up... my box is in a storage area outside of the house, i use a carbon filter to catch any random odors, but since it just filters the air outside the box it doesn't completely kill the odor....plus i'm growing some really skunky plants

I only have a stanley blower to exhaust through a cooltube. I dont know if that will handle the 1000. I guess I can always hook it up and see...

i use dual 400's and only cool one of them i would love to see u pull of a 1000 in that small of space but it could be a lil overkill but if the temps alow it go for it.

That 1000 watt is way to hot for a small grow use a 400 MH for veg and 600 HPS for budding or even go smaller you will need to cool the lights with a fan a bathroom vent fan works well and you can get one that only put out 2.5 scones thats quiet and you need to make a carbon scruber.

DUDE...I'd suggest you buy a couple of fire extinguishers cuz your gonna toast something using that much lighting

Seriously...With the lights you listed, running at once in that size area, your looking at 209 w/ft...No way I see you cooling that much lighting, plus odor control, and going stealth

Maybe you should clearify how your planning on using the lights

Oh sorry if that wasnt clear. I only want to use one light in there. I have a sunsytems hood that fits perfect in the cab that I wanted to use because I can air cool it. But if I could use a 1000 I would put it in a cool tube.
