my local store carries fantech, vortex, elicent and can fans, i know if I ask them theyre just gonna tell me the best fans are the ones w/ the most markup so Im trying to get a real opinion. My 6" vortex exhaust fan sucks and not in a good way. Im hoping to replace it soon a s Im hoping itll help w/ the temps and get more air in there, so which ones work well for you guys? i did a search but couldnt find anything, thanx..

ive heard good things about elicent, butto be honest i have a generic brand and it rips shit up lol. maybe compare the static pressure abilities with for them for the cfm rating you need.

even the elicent eco plus fans are great, better than the vortex by far. If your going to buy a fantech dont get one unless its a huge one, their smaller fans arent that great IME.

I've used Elicent and Vortex and Elicients are a higher quality fan but the Vortex gives you more bang for the buck.

went ahead and got me a can fan and cap co2/2, my friend swears by the can fans but when I pulled the thing out it looked kind of janky, imma hook it up and see if it even makes a difference tonight..........

I have the 6" vortex, with a speed control. This thing is very solid indeed. Without the control, I wouldn't really want it. This thing might be abit to strong.
It's cooling a 600w, in an area of 2x4, like I said at half speed. The lens is parked about 10" from the tops.
To bad yours isn't performing for you.
I have an old grotek fan here that I've used. Still in perfect condition, and strong as hell! I just wanted to try out 6" ducting, so the Vortex fit the bill.
Like mentioned before...bang for the buck.

I've used this grotek of mine to cool a 1k garden afew yrs back. Not sure if they make them anymore, ...I don't think it was very expensive.
Good luck with the can fan.

the can fans def push lots more air (ove rthe vortex), its crazy. the only thing is I have two fans cooling 2 lights 4", and I just found out one of em was crapped out after only 1 run!!!
it was a vortex but I called my local shop and theyre gonna replace it for me so its cool, but i was wondering why in the world my temps were climbing a bit higher than normal, I guess the first fan had to pushthrough the dead fan and then out and that was the problem....
