Montana MMJ Refugee seeking asylum in OR

Things are getting ugly here in Montana. I don't care to spend any time in jail. Been noticing how cheap land is in Oregon, how much better the laws are and how long the growing season is.


Please give me the lowdown on the situation there.

Is there a good job market in Oregon?

I plan on moving out west when I'm older, have a degree and feel like I am responsible enough for the undertaking. I'm currently in the south but really don't feel like it. I mean, don't get me wrong, there are cool people but I feel like there could be a lot of improvement down here. One thing I like is the incredibly low cost of living. I'm only 18 but have a travelled a little bit and that little bit is enough to see that we do take everything being inexpensive for granted from time to time. I guess I might be a little bitter from getting busted a few months ago as well.

No man there ain't no jobs in Oregon. Taxes are really high and the people there are very liberal. Place sucks I wouldn't move there.

I was being sarcastic. Obviously no one is going to say come to my state and grow some fucking weed. Pretty funny though, I'm cutting firewood so I can buy some land out there. Living off the green and saving all the "trees" for the move.

Well here in Montana the Feds have moved in and store owners are facing prosecution. Most of our states elected officials have failed us. SB423 went into effect July 1st and has basically repealed the law. ie. everytime I drive a vehicle I am now breaking the law...even if I were to stop medicating for two days. A petition drive may get the issue back on the ballot, the case is slated for the Montana Supreme Court. Both the petition drive and the court case are in serious jeopardy due to financial reasons and a general lacking of committed people willing to collect signatures. I personally collected over 700 in the first two weeks, had there been 100 of me out there we would have nearly double the signatures we need. Six weeks later that goal has still not been met, that would get the issue on the ballot and allow the old law to stay in effect until the election. Looks like they have enough to get it on the ballot though but SB423 will be in effect until the election.

There simply arent enough people in Montana for how wild things got around here. Obama doesn't give a fuck about intruding upon a "red" state with 1 electoral vote. Montana is seen as a lynchpin in the entire medical marijuana game. If we fall they figure other states may follow suit and reverse their MMj laws.

I'd simply prefer to hide out someplace that ain't bringing so much heat.

eastern oregon is sunny all the time

western oregon is not



they say this is a place for some, not for all. I for one got here and realized I was finally home, I no longer needed to search, I could feel it in my heart. This is an absolutly beautiful state, that is also piss poor. The roads are all full of potholes and sometimes our schools shut down early due to lack of funding.

Portland is a liberal a city as you will find. Republicans don't even bother running for office. This is a foodies wet dream, there is more food here than you can possibly imagine. There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of food trucks alone. We have pods of food trucks with 10-20 carts and seating and some even serve beer. Then you have countless restaurants of every nationality and variety. This is the micro brew capital and is becoming the micro distillery capital as well. This is a national leader in bike riding and it is very easy to get all over town on your bike. Herb is insanely good and also cheap. $150-170 an ounce for grade A is quite common. This is a very young city, the 30 somethings are the biggest populace that I see. Live music every day and night, with big name bands every day as well. I was Roger Waters perform The Wall a few weeks back. Shit I feel like I'm letting the genie out of the bottle, let me get back on track


no jobs, it rains a lot and if it isn't raining it can be cloudy, no jobs, one of the nations highest unemployment rates. Everyone grows, so at least the place always smells amazing.

but if you want to buy land southern oregon or around the mountains is your best bet. Down by Sisters it is beautiful.
