Montana governor vetoes medical marijuana repeal.

"HELENA, Mont (Reuters) - Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer on Wednesday vetoed a bill that would have repealed the state's seven-year-old, voter-approved law legalizing marijuana for medical purposes.

"I do not believe it is right that 91 legislators overturn the will of the people of Montana, who passed this citizen initiative in 2004 by this significant margin," he said in his veto message."

THANK GOD.

Voter's wishes were upheld. I was sure to drop him a line...I encourage anybody operating under Initiative 148 (and medical users alike) to do the same.

THIS GUY JUST SAVED YOU! He deserves our thanks.

Peace.

What a novel concept! Do you think it will catch on?

An elective representative in an executive position actually defending the will of the people over the agenda of the whore-ocrats.

Two thumbs up for Brian Schweitzer.

That is huge, if one state got overturned it would be detrimental to the momentum the industry has gained over the past few years.

We still have one more serious hurdle to go here in Big Sky Country. Senate bill 423, which is designed to reduce the number of MMJ patients in the state from nearly 30,000 to less than 2000, is still being debated in the legislature. It would prevent caregivers from receiving ANY money for supplying MMJ and would limit caregivers to only one non-family member patient. This bill is the backup plan for the governor's veto on the full repeal bill. It is being referred to as repeal in sheep's clothing.

THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE WAS UP HELD TODAY. THE PEOPLES VOICE NEEDS TO BE HEARD ON STATE AND FEDERAL LEVELS. WHEN YOU CALL OR EMAIL YOUR STATE AND FEDERAL REPS THEY WILL PAY ATTENTION IF THEY HEAR FROM ENOUGH PEOPLE. CALL, WRITE, OR EMAIL IF YOU JUST SIT ON YOUR HANDS NOTHING WILL GET DONE. TODAY I CALLED THE WHITEHOUSE, SPEAKER BONER, AND MY CONGRESSMEN TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT I THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING . IT ALSO LETS THEM KNOW WE ARE WATCHING. SO GET INVOLVED. RAISE HELL LET THEM KNOW WHAT YOY THINK. MY RANT........JUST DO IT!!!!!!

They should Bronze this dude's nuts because that's what it takes is huge balls to take on the assholes in goverment against medical MJ for people who need it to survive.

Props to Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer

I still think Montana is not a friendly state for growers. Look at the penalties for those who go over the limit in weight (all growers) and are facing the standard justice system for Montana. It's insanely long prison terms.

imo there are states with no medical MJ programs in place that are better for growers than Montana.
