Check out this monster pig. Boy shot it 5 times, chased it three hours. Man, this pigs ( hogzilla 2 ) head is bigger than the boys whole body. Can you imagine a roast lasting a month. Check out a yahoo, or google thread for more info.

well PAB the facts are that these large boars are manmade. Hogzilla's diet consisted of high protein fish food from the fishfarm where he lived. This pig appears to have been shot on one of those so-called plantations. The places where the rich go and pay a few hundred doillars for a day of fun killing somewhat domesticated "wild animals". These animals are usually around these plantations because either they were placed there for the sole purpose of being killed or they were drawn in because of the great food offered to them. Maybe a shame to kill this thing but most definitely not the work of mother nature. More the work of manmade bioengineered food.

well that is a bit more reasonable. and it makes sense as well, why kill 20 when you can kill one?
just wonder what kinda defects / weird tastes a mutant pig has.

a pig that size, and of that age would have terrible tasting flesh.

When they get that large and old, they start to really taste too gamey. And also the meat would be very tough.

The best meat to eat is from the little animals that are still feeding on the mothers milk. That meat is the most tender and best tasting.

Reasonable? Its fucking insane. When will people begin to realize the changes we make to nature will come back to haunt us. If food does THAT to a pig, don't you think that may not be the best thing somewhere down the line ?

I got an idea!!! lets find the biggest, best, most respectable animal we can and shoot it till it dies. that means we're better than it right?

douchebags.

Two were killed just recently very near my area, one 500lbs and the other one 450lbs.

That is sad, though. They are obviously masters of their domain, legends.

Thats a big fucking boar. I've seen some huge pigs before though, in Grafenwoehr, Germany (buddy of mine was doing some military training there, and I visited him there.) These hogs were friggin huge, I asked my buddy if he knew how they got so big. He said that he was told it was from the old MREs they threw out, the pigs were eating them appartently.

Evolution is why, genetics determine how things taste to us, I would guess the fact they are easier to catch and probably affects a prey species less than killing child rearing adults... I mean look at lions, the male lion kills the cubs of a lioness and she LETS him fuck her to make more cubs!!!

Irishslappop, what is the most respected animal? To native americans, bison was the biggest, best*, most respected animal, are you saying native americans are all douchebags? Sounds like you are in my opinion.

*to live off

The End is Near Which is worse, raising an animal for slaughter denying it a life in its natural habitat, or killing it after it has lived free and lived plenty? If you are a vegan, heres my reply in advance, EVOLUTION IS TRUE YOU RELIGIOUS NUT, JESUS NEVER EXISTED!

The fact is, no environment remains untainted/changed by the spread of humankind, this has been going on for virtually 20,000 years. In reality evolution has proven that as environments change, so does the life that inhabits it. I think fear of change is irrational, it is unstoppable, nature itself changes. Our changes of course are dramatic, but has humankind's influence been as dramatic as the Cambrian explosion? Has it been as dramatic as whatever caused dinosaurs to give way to mammals? Yes condors are feeding their babies plastic to death, yes human introduced mice are killing the defenseless babes, but the Condor would have eventually gone extinct. Does that mean we lose all responsibility for our actions, no, but being the only highly sentient species on the planet, we have ONLY ourselves to answer to. I think humanity has answered with a resounding blow that we care way more about our species than the rest, and we still can't even fix our own societal problems.

PackABowl Look at this way, the boar will be immortalized since it is being stuffed, the majority of its flesh will return to the Earth whence it came, and you got to see the beauty of nature in this boar. Otherwise it would have just died and been compost.

Okay, first off, I DO believe in evolution, and I am NOT AT ALL religious, nor a vegan. My screen name is from society in general fucking itself up, and is half jokingly, hence the tinfoil hat. If you want, check out my post in the philosopher's thread. And yeah, the free life is better, and I've already made that belief for myself long ago. That's why the chicken here sucks ass compared to smaller, but free roaming foreign counterparts.

Obviously you're just trolling and want some conflict and attention, so here goes: Oh no! Your ignorant post has reduced me to a fuming jackass. My beliefs are crushed. Shut up, stupidyhead! I'll go read my bible for comfort, and pray for your soul.

As far as humanity's effect on the environment, sure, we can probably devastate a shitload of it and still manage to survive, but as a result it will be uglier, more toxic, and have less of the beautiful biodiversity that is left. Some people may not give a rat's ass about species halfway around the world, but a lot of us actually do. And sometimes humanity paints itself into a corner. In the case of the barren Easter Island, they cut down all the trees, all the birds were killed or left, and they were reduced to squatting cannibals without jack shit but the stupid stone faces they ruined their once beautiful paradise for. We are part of something far greater than ourselves, but we are collectively too ignorant, too greedy, and too short sighted to forsee the long term consequences of our actions.

I don't wish any general harm on humanity(well, maybe a little), but in a bluntly logical way, the best thing for both humanity and the life on this planet is a huge population crash and downsizing of our way of life. Otherwise we'll just turn it into the biggest wasteland it's ever been.

I think you missed the part where this stupid kid kills this legend of an animal and then lets it rot because he has no use for it. The native americans used the entire buffalo and only killed one when nessesary for food, clothing, rope, and tons of other essential needs. So basically you need to not put words in peoples mouths.
