Mom on 24/0

My main cabinet is in 12/12 right now, but my buddy just gave me a clone of his coveted Vietnamese Purple strain. I threw together a speaker cabinet growbox, but I only have one timer, so I was considering just leaving her on 24/0 for the forseeable future. Anyone out there ever try to keep a mom under constant light? What are the advantages/disadvantages to doing this?

No problem at all leaving it on for 24 hours. 24/0 or 18/6 are both fine for mothers.

For some strains 24 hour light may be better than 18/6 some strains can become pistilly after awhile if they get dark hours and you dont want pistils on your vegging cuttings

24 hour light is ok with florescents. I would not give a plant 24/0 under hid. My plants that receive more than 18 hours or so hid begin to wilt because they are saturated with light (can't take more).

I give my plants 20/4 under 400 watt HID..works perfect. I assume 24/0 would give the same, just make sure you have a good airflow!

My mom/clone/veg box light has been on 24 hours a day 365 days a year now for 2 years. I use a 6 bulb T5 works killer... I did read that 20/4 or 21/3 was better for roots, but I have such good growth I said f ck it..

I have NO airflow, as all my fans are in my flowering cabinet right now, but I'm only using two 23w spiral cfl's to do the job, so I'm not too worried about temperature.....should I be?

The improvised box is about two feet by one foot by one foot. Big enough for a 15' woofer, a midrange, a tweeter, and a bass hole. You know, generic carpeted speaker box. It DID wilt quite a bit at first, but it was in really bad shape when I got my hands on it, and I think I put it a little too close to the lights at first anyways.

So should I just hold off on getting a timer? It's only like 2 bucks, so it's not too big of a worry, I'm just lazy is all.
