Molasses and other stimulants

I was reading this article in high times called sweat leaf from the aug 2006 issue. unfortunatley one of the pages is torn up and i cant read it. so, i was wondering. can anyone give me a formula for a molasses mix and roughly how often i should fertilize with it to enchance flavor signifigantly and yield/smell. also any other garden tips to nice little additives that arent chemical related, please share them. All growers want the superb plants. Especially the novices. Anyways good night.

Peace.

Honestly I have only ever used molases or other sugar solutions to feed beneficial organisms. I have used the new sugar products with little to no effect(sugar daddy, sweet leaf and sweet) I har sweet works best of All . But really these new sugar solutions from the big companys really arent that big of a deal to me. Nor are they organic at all.
I suppose succanat (natural sugar) and unsulphonated black strap molasses are probably best. I have started using a product called organics alive latelt that is a microbial tea . It kicks ass and its 100% organic. The point is in my tea brewer these guys use a bit (50ml give or take) of organic molasis and "other special sugars" to feed the microbes during brewing.
Also having high level of microbes will bring up brix content which is sugar . So it reasons to me the best way is to use all the beneficials you can get and use sugar to feed them.

I use feed-grade molasses every watering. The smells and tastes have increased exponentially. Best additive I use, I think.

It's not really a fertilizer but a soil comditioner that boosts micro levels and provides a source of carbohydrates for the soil organisms to be top shape.
I use it as posted above at 1tbs/gal of water or fertilizer with every watering or even every 2nd, use it in teas that are aerated and you'll notice a diff. guaranteed.

i also use it about every other watering along with fishtank water, diluted urine, alfalfa tea, comfrey tea, chamomile tea, and wood ash tea. rarely do i ever give my plants just pure water. the only nutrient i have to mix in to my soilless media is bone meal, the rest all comes in liquid.

Beneficial Molasses...

Beneficial Molasses...

From Jan.of this year to the present my co-conspiritor and I conducted experiments..mainly with Sweet and Molasses and a combination of both and none at all..What I've found is...For the dollar,Sweet does very little if anything over plain old molasses.Now..these test are really inconclusive..we're still arguing over the results.Out of 3strains, one seemed to pick-up alittle taste with the Sweet,One Indica really tasted better with Molasses, and another did nothing at all...So long story short..if you have a shitty tasting Ghani..you might add a little sweetness with molasses.Sweet around here sells for 19.99 a jug.I can get the equivelent amount of molasses for 5 dollars..Hmmm..I have that same issue of Ht sitting right here..They make it sound like all weed will taste like chocolate cake by just adding these simple yet highly expensive addatives.I believe you're benefiting you're soil microbes more than gaining any Noticable Taste difference.

I agree w/everthing cept the non-fertilizer part...it does have some K kick to it...so I use bout a teaspoon per gal occasionally. I know peeps who swear by usin it every time they water, but it depends on what yer K source is already in yer medium IMO. I have kelp and green sand in my medium...sometimes...I play a lot.

I use 1 tsp-1 1/2 tsp per gallon every 2nd or 3rd watering just dont use it too much. Late.

Black Strap Molat

Black Strap Molat

Hi All ! Just started a molasses tea with:
1-tbs Jamaican/Mexican bat guano ea for veg/& take out the Mex bat for bud
1-tbs Maxicrop seaweed
1-teaspoon of unsulphured black strap molasses(Iron/20%,Potassium/10%,& Calcium/20%)this is a chelate the lil bugs like this stuff....;>)
and worm castings.....2tbs.....this all goes in a 1 gal jug of PH-6.0 RO water &
air bubble it for a couple dayz.....nice and foamy......the gurlz LOVE their
BLACK STRAP MOLAT cocktail only when they need it and not a weekly feeding like alot of people do.....and ONLY 1 tsp, not 1 TBS,that is to much
sugar, just tease them with a little candy.....LOL!!! see my gurl ! Also,if the
plant has a high brix reading the bugs will die Brix:8-12 is good...bugs like a
water diet, and a high sugar content in the plant will deter bugs, organics feed
the soil, chemical ferts feed the plant, so high sugar vs. alot of water
if we drink lots of water we live and thrive, but if we drink lots of sugar we can die sooner, so when the bugs do the same on your plants..guess what happens....so organics have sugar and chem ferts more water......

Peace!
