Thanks manYes, it is a good idea.
The very first seed banks in the 80s did it already. Hybrids crossed with Afghans, South Africans... A lot of companies still do. Check out the ACE Seeds forum for some examples, Killer A5 Haze etc https://www.icmag.com/forums/ace-seeds.58/
The potential benefits depend on the parents chosen and what they can bring to the table. But universal ones would be healthy plants due to heterosis, novelty in aroma and effects.
I was thinking about crossing highland laoGreetings!
What kind of cross do you have in mind? Just curious.
Have a great day!
Thanks man, you right i may not get what i want and that's also the beauty of discoverbreeding is an adventure, and often you end up in places you least expect .........truth is you never really know how 2 plants are going to combine ......... until you let the pollen fly ..but i like your thought process ...a short flowering sativa leaning hybrid to bring down the flowering time while keeping the sativa characterises of the lao.....could be really really nice
I had a Black Fire Chem (GG4 x Chem D x Black Fire OG) that hermed due to stress. She/he pollinated a Cannabiogen Destroyer. Thus far, every seed I've popped has been female, haven't had any herms pop up yet, and this is what's been the result...

These last two pics compare two different plants. The one on the right has some premature seeds due to some other seeds I was given that threw some nanners.
To be honest I was hoping they would lean further to the nld side but I can't complain for an accidental pollination.
Early veg stem rubs are fresh blueberries (Destroyer mom), actually this time closer to grapefruit. And then the flower in the end has been all Chem, GG4, no OG
amazing looking buds.......the magic truly happens when you f2 a beautiful cross like this ........then you will find all kinds of pheno's, scents, profiles and i imagine plenty of nld expressions .........one of the best sativa lines ever released destroyer ...i really rate itI had a Black Fire Chem (GG4 x Chem D x Black Fire OG) that hermed due to stress. Hi,Guys is a good idea to cross a modern hybrid with a landrace? Did Anyone make something like that in the breeding industry? What advantage coul a thing like that have?
