MMMP Robbed by Local Police

Well...... I am a registered patient with Michigan for the use of Medical Marijuana, My girlfriend and I had got in an argument and she had called the police and told them that I was NOT a mmmp, she was unaware that I did infact have a card, we were just not communicating like we should have, soo they took all of our equipment, an One plant that was about 3 inchs tall, and about 2 oz of meds in a locked room, the room that contained the plant was also locked, it was 100% legit by Michigans MMJ act. I say ours because she is also a MMMP but her card had expired months ago..the meds have lasted since her last grow... this is just a brief quick story of whats going on, I have not spoke to the police, they stole our CPU, and have hired an Attorney. what a mess......
Any ideas?

Then buy new equipment and fire it up. If you haven't been arrested then you should be good. Card protects against arrest. If you weren't over on weight or plant numbers I wouldn't worry too much.

Hope you aren't in Oakland County though.

I should think that if you were to go in and show your card to LEO they'd have to give your stuff back.

No, Not in Oakland, im on the West Side, I hope its as simple as buying new equipment and fireing it back up, and I have read alot on this site and online, the card "Should protect me and her from arrest" but its the DA's office were talking about, I have wrote NORML and called a few of the top attorneys in MI about this situation, they tell me the same thing, wait it out and see what happens, they also said the cops can kick in doors accross the state and make every patient fight it out in court, saying they would have to have the Dr's come in and explain why there on the meds... Last I knew the DA's arnt Dr's and HIPPA laws are suppose to be confidential. Its been almost 2 months.

Yea.... go in there and tell them they made a mistake, just drop it off at the address they stole it from, lol they don't like to be wrong.

Anyone else ever been through this scenario or heard of a person going through this? how long do they get to hold our equipment?
I think its a year, which means 10 more months of the shits and no meds, I enjoyed working but if the state does this I may as well go for disability w/o meds, and I refuse to take any sort of pills, thats a no no for my situation.

Sucks to hear man, really depends on what county you're in, not that I'm asking. West side does not sound great unless Kzoo maybe.

You really should be able to show your card and get your stuff back. I guess it depends on how good your rec is. A lot of people are finding out if you went to a mill for your rec it may be worthless.

If you got it from a clinic that demands medical records you should be fine and I'd be calling the detective in charge of your case and explain yourself. If you are not guilty then stand up for yourself and go get your shit back. If it's not thousands of dollars in equipment you may want to just buy new.

Again, in MI it pays to be in a green zone aka Washtenaw, Jackson, Genesee, Wayne.
If you are up in the conservative bible zone best of luck.

Oh yeah, usually for an civil asset forfiture you will have to post a bond equal to 10% of the property they took. If you fail to post this bond within 30 days they are free to keep your stuff.

Hope you get it worked out.

Like others have said, if your fully legit and are complying with state laws, then try and get your shit back. From your posts it sounds like you didn't have anything really going on and they just decided to steal stuff because of what your gf has said. If you have hired an attorney then by all means try and get back your stolen stuff.

Move. Tell no one where you move to. Buy equipment. Assemble room, stock room, insert clones, veg clones, harvest, dry, manicure, cure, smoke.

Repeat as needed for whatever the hell it is that ails you.
