MMJ & Guns

But its cool to get hammered on booze and have a gun....wtf

actually, no. get caught driving/walking while intoxicated & a loaded pistol under the seat/belt, you are going to be charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated whether you have a concealed carry permit or not. at least, that is what happens here in Tennessee...IMO, a good thing. drunks don't need to be carrying firearms. but to refuse the right of self-defense because you use a substance medically is going to end up in front of the Supreme Court, and the sooner the better! pretty sure they don't discriminate against those with a prescription for Demerol, Xanax, Oxycontin etc.

This could get interesting. It is state vs federal. Even though cannabis is federally illegal, as of late the feds have basically let its legality status for medical use (and rec) up to the states.

the feds sell the guns. background checks and all that. states can regulate how and when the gun can be used/carried or whatever but getting over the FFL part ?? yes it will get interesting.. AOH the Federal form one fills out to purchase a gun askes if you use any 'illegal' drugs.. oxis' are legal w script.. so yes, whacked on oxis is ok but cannabis is not. that is whacked. I forget if they ask if you drink alcohol. but this IMO, is another attempt to disarm the US citizens. you know, inch and a mile..

i have only bought one in my life that was registered, a Ruger pistol i gave my Dad on Christmas over thirty years ago. he gave it back to me about 5 years before he died, & i have since sold it. (could not hit an outhouse if i was inside with the door locked, LOL!) i wish the law the best of luck locating it now...

As they say, it's all about control.

If you built a 3D Earth map that shows countries laws, by year, it would be a pretty sparse 3D model up until the beginning of Prohibition.

If every applicable law was represented in the 3D model by a piece of paper looking thing, with perhaps the thickness of a newspaper, there would be very few newspapers covering the map, until some year in the 1900's.

Where we are now, with
NDAA
Patriot Act
... drug laws
gun laws.

laws that prevent you from creating fuel for your vehicle.

just plain, laws up the Yin Yang.

By 2016 there would be so many newspapers covering the globe it would look like someone was paper mache'ing it out to the Moon.

In other words, there's an astounding number of laws in the US ... and it's all about control/money & a very dual tier society (sort of like the caste system in India.)

If you're a member of the right club, you can get away with pedophilia.

I'm not saying there's anything good about that, just noting that not only are there a lot of laws, but that they are highly selective in who they apply to.

And that is very related to the mechanism of control.

Perhaps Hillary Clinton would be an example.

Bill Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich would be another.

Of course, Control is implemented in other ways. Banana Republic-ish type deals are one.

Bush selling PRIME Nevada gold land to Barrick during his last few days, would be another. $1 Billion worth of US gold ... Bush sold it to a company that he started with his Iran-Contra buddies ... e.g. Adnan Khashoggi.

For $10,000.
