MJ and Sleep

Yo,

I was just wondering something.

Lets say its 10 PM, and I smoke a nice bowl out of a bong.

Lets say I go to bed at 11 PM.

Would the marijuana in my system somehow interfere with my sleep, negatively, in any way? So that when I woke up I wouldn't feel as good as if I went to bed without mj?

You know how alcohol does this....

I was just wondering...

Thanks

Yes, it sounds like you've got the same problem I do. I feel MUCH more groggy in the morning if I go to bed high. When I go to be high I also don't remember any of my dreams and am basically in more of a coma then I am in sleep cuz i stay in the same position all night.

I know what you are going through, I feel groggy every morning but multiple factors are at play for me. I think going to bed high does have an effect BUT if I DONT smoke before bed...I prolly wont sleep.

Well...I guess I don't care much about feeling groggyish in the morning. I just want to make sure I get the required REM time, so that my body/mind can recuperate. I've been doing a lot of physical activity lately...and am concerned whether having more than 1 beer at night would make me sleep less productively..... or having a smoke before going to bed would do the same thing.

Basically, I want my body/mind to completely recuperate.

I'm thinking of smoking tonight, haven't smoked all week...but I have a big day tomorrow and don't want to feel -less than-

It's weird. I sleep like a champ if I smoke a bowl before bed. Nothing to raccy, preferably something Indica dominant. It has a clear impact on my dreams, and I wake up shaking my head going "what the fuck". Overall I enjoy weed sleep, I haven't found much of a difference aside from more outrageous dreams.

I sometimes have trouble getting to sleep, and there's nothing like a nice bowl before bedtime to send me to dreamland. Nothin' racy, like someone said above. The only way weed makes me groggy the next morning is if I smoked a hell of a lot and then didn't get enough sleep.

THC acts as a dream suppressant.... israeli Army has been useing THC pills for years for troops who have nightmares associated with PTSD...

Ive had Nightmare problems since i returned from Iraq and have also been diagnosed with PTSD..... and i can personally say for a fact that THC suppresses dream activity or atleast minimizes it.

This is pretty interesting, smoking before i go to bed helps makes me feel well rested in the morning when i wake up. and i also have some trippy dreams when i sleep after smoking. For instance i had a dream that i was in a church in new york during the night time when all of a sudden these religious zombies that were all brown looking and decayed like mummies were attacking me, and they could possess your body by grabbing a hold of you and repeating the last 100 or so words that you said. once they did that you were a gonner.. but i shook them off me and got away!!
