hey guys was setting up a new grow room n with the space ive got i can only manage a flowering area of 2mtr high, 1.7mtr long and 1.5mtr wide or 6.5f x 5.5f x 4.9feet. would it b possible to run a 1000 watt with a cooltube in there. also my climate gets fairly cold as well. any help would b appreciated

Yes. You need the extra room around the edges for airflow or at least some good plant spacing. I have the same sized room as room as you almost... 6' 4" ceilings, 4' 10" wide by 5' deep.

The trickiest part is having good access to the further corners of a room, I have found. It seems useful to have at least an access panel in that furthest point to reach an arm in to clear out dead leaves, adjust a blumat sensor, raise or lower a plant, etc.

Hope that helps. :tiphat:

isnt this basically just the dimensions for any given grow tent based on the "5'X5'" plot size?
i think height wise they are always just under 7' but over 6.5'...

1000 watts would work great. white paint or some good reflective material and your gold IMHO

thnx heaps guys i really do appreciate all ur inputs. once ive finished building the rooms n everythin is sweet i'll b using a DIY undercurrent system with 4-6 plants bloomin under the 1k and the same amount vegging under a 400w. will b runnin sum white rhino clones in there so hope all goes well. :gday:

I just pulled 18oz from 4 plants(10oz AK-48,8 oz Ice) in a 2x4x8 space with a single 1k
+1 for running both, maybe one MH and the other HPS

I'm running a 400w in a 2x3x8 and hanging it vertically. I exhaust with a 4" vortex.

Do you guys think I could put a 1000w or even a 600w in there without issues? Temps are high 70s now.

I was thinking maybe a 1000w all the way to the ceiling and then I would never have to adjust height of bulb

i dont see why a smaller space would hurt with a 1kw, as long as you are sufficiently ventilating it. your girls will think they are in africa ;-)

Most definitely.

I'm running 2000 watt dual arcs (vented) in a 4X8 space with temps running around 70F with lights/fan on. The smaller the space, the more ventilation becomes critical.

4.9 imo is cutting it close for a 1k. it really is going to depend on what your cooling situation is going to be. that hood is probably going to be at the ceiling and then youve got another 6-8'' down where the real heat is going to be coming from so youre looking at about 4' from bottom of hood/cooltube to floor.

if you arent running a/c or have a good cooling system i highly doubt it will cool that thing down enough. 1ks do produce a lot of heat.

shit im sorry i thought i read that as L x W x H
well either way youre going to need a good cooling system to cool it down enough.

once again thnx for all ur inputs ppl. i know that ventilation will b super critical in my situation so i will b running a carbon filter- allvent centrifigal fan- cooltube- vent. the fan is rated at 410 litres per second. would that b sufficent enough

hey no problem, thats what were here for. what is the fans CFM rating?? i dnt know anything about liters. i suppose i could do the conversion. but what is it? and what size duct? i would say AT LEAST 600 cfm and at least 6 inch ducting. but i would go with 8 if i were you. i would definitely overkill it. and go with a fan speed controller.

thnx man the CFM is 887 n yes i will b gettin fan speed controller to help with noise. the diameter of the fan is 25cm or 9.8inches. but will have to reduce it down to 6 or 8 inches to connect it to the cool tube.

Benjuanman, If this helps give you a baseline, I run 1k in a space slightly bigger than yours (6x6x8) feet. I am running bare bulbs with a 6" 300cfm fan and my temps run about 7 degrees F above ambient. I am using an over sized carbon filter and my fan pretty much vents straight to the attic with very little ducting.

With your larger fan, you should not even need the cool tube unless you are using it for piece of mind so you can leave the grow alone for a few days.

Good luck!!

yeah man you should be good to go! i would most definitely get the speed controller for noise and also when ambient temps change youll be able to also control your rooms temp along with the changes in ambient temps. but it sounds like youve got a handle on it. grow on
