Had to move some 3 wk clones from under 18/6 light to the outdoors to make space. I have them under CFLs outside in the evening and in sun in the day.
The light shines in my window and annoys me. You think 9pm would be Ok to turn off CFLs ?
Thats about 15 hrs of light.
Thanks
I heard 14.5 hours. Anything less and they might go into flower. But I don't know. I started seeds indoor late March and didn't put them outside under shade until the start of june. Which they immediately started taking off. I should have put them outside a lot sooner in my opinion.
have you heard of the gas lantern routine? it's worth reading up on if this is something that interests you...a system devised by greenhouse growers to stop plants flowering until ready....lots of info via google..
it looks like this...
12 hours light
5.5 hours dark
1 hour light
5.5 hours dark
so in the original version (ie for outdoor/greenhouse use) the idea is that you need a light strong enough to interrupt the dark period that comes on for an hour in the middle of the night...
Im not sure what qualifies as light that can be counted as part of the 16 hours- there is a half hour in the very early Am and late PM when its like a glow.
But I'm not going there- will just play safe, stay up an extra hour, and give them 16hrs for another 2 weeks.
