mini man made ecosytem

anyone have information on small homemad eco systems? maybe consisting of a few reptiles? i know i've always thought about it here and there... would prob be really hard, but who knows... maybe someone heres done it?

Let's keep that info in this topic, it may be helpful for others too. Micro ecosystems are fascinating, a piece of nature in your apartment.

I've seen some paludariums with "poison dart frogs" that only needs to add food and water. When the bacteria starts doing it's thing and the plants works what the bacteria breaks down it starts to roll on it's own. Some minor upkeep also but I don't remember what kind. Setting it up is the hardest part and getting the bacteria/plant count in equilibrium.

I know no more than a scratch of surface about that but I'm interested in terrariums of all kinds. I'm not 100% sure since it's few years when I read that and my memory isn't the shiniest around.

yea bass, thats pretty much what I want to do someday... including bacteria would be awesome and def. a must for a good little ecosystem.
