Just thought I would share my grow so far.It is Chrystal bagseed and my grow is a Mills Pride C-13 prefab closet with a 400 watt HPS and a 4" 170cfm eco plus inline exhuast fan.

Temps stay around 79-86F (I know, that's a little high) and RH% between 35%-65%.I have a small oscilating fan to circulate the air around the plants.

They were started off using the paper towel method and as soon as they sprouted they wer placed into saturated Rapid Rotter plugs and placed into a sedd tray and flat filled with 2" of plain 6.5-7.0 pH R/O water with a 6" humidity dome on top.Within 3 days the five I had germed sprouted the surface of their RR plugs. After three days of popping the surface and being under the humidity dome they grew their first true leaves and off the with the humidity dome.

After one week they had 3-4 sets of true leaves so I transplanted to 2 liter bottles with my mix which is Jungle Groth potting mix and Dol Lime to counteract the pine bark and sphagnum peat moss.

3 of the five plants ended up being major runts or unhealthy and stubborn so I culled those three and I am left with two_One is the most vigorous plant out of the bunch is a confirmed female after 4 weeks veg,the other is shorter plant that got alittle too rootbound before transplanting but I am sure it will kick back into gear and it also is a confirmed female.

This week (three days ago actually) I transplanted them both from the 2 liter bottles to 3 gallon pots and saturated the soil. This morning I fed with full strength (as per 2006 feeding chart ie;3 tespoons/1 tablespoon) Fox Farms Grow Big.So far the plants are starting to green up a little at a time (when ya get rootbound ya get deficencies).

I plant to take clones and prune within the next 1-2 weeks then after the cuttings have rooted I will veg the plants and clones another week before switching to 12/12.

I have not been using FF Big Bloom this go around and I beleive that is why my plants were exhibiting such fast defficiencies while rootbound in the 2 liters (Big Bloom is like a catalyst to better increase nutrient uptake).I plan on using it next feeding.

As soon as I switch to 12/12 I will be feeding the recommended dosages of Tiger Bloom,Big Bloom and Open Seasame (these new additives are kick ass in results but in no way organinc).

Stay tuned IC! :smoweed:

Jnugg, looking pretty good bro. If i were you i'd do some serious LSTing in the coming weeks. Having only 2 plants on 1 ..400 watt hps... u'lll want those babies to get nice and bushed out so you can use all your watts to there full potential. In your circumstance i would seriously veg them babies until the nodes alternate. And just in case 1 turns hermie (god forbid) u'll still pull a decent yield. VEG VEG VEG! :) -Opt

Thanks for the reply OPT.Some of the side branches have alternating nodes but not all and I am hoping that with in the next 2 weeks the plant starts producing alternating nodes. After taht I will take cutings and root (trying to make a temporary clone home) and then veg the clones for a week and finish them in 1 gallon pots.

I plan on bending and pruning in the coming weeks so thanks,I think I will take my cuttings from the lower growth (some of the lowest branches are monstrous for the short stature of this plant) even though I know the tops are the best. This way there really aren't any lower growths to suck the much need energy from the plants during flowering and keeping the budsites close enough to the light (no fluffy popcorns wanted).

I guess I will use a few strong cuttings (strong as in branch size and thickness) and more weak ones (they'll kick in after a day or two after rooting and veging for a week) so all bud sites on the main/donor plants will be as strong and healthy as can be (big buds, sticky buds....).

Nice litt'l set up. I would suggest cutting a 3 - 4" hole in that cabinet and install an exhaust fan of some sort to help with the heat. Maybe a couple of quiet computer fans blowing air out of the cab would help. If you could hidethe light leak even an open slot on top or the back would help.

Read this thread!

I'd shoot for temps 80.

Thanks for the advice Shrike.I plan on getting a 6" 449cfm Vortex or Eco Plus but There are too many ideas floating around in my head.I am going to finish this grow out with what I have and next grow I am stuck between getting a 6" 449cfm inline and building a second much smaller box for vegging, cloning or downgrading to a 250w/270w HPS in a cooltube so I can create a bottom shelf for veging clones a week and rooting clones and hold 1 or 2 bonsai moms.

I beleive my main prob with the temps is that I cannot exhuast the cabs air outside or into an attic as this would cuase a major security concern (not becuase of odor).I live in an APT. and I do have an attic and attic entrance but the attic has no walls seperating each unit up there so I can see from one end of the building all the way to the other.I just dump the air being exhuasted from the can into my bedroom where the cab sits and in summer this will become a major problem without central air conditioning which is expensive to run.

So either the 6" 440cfm inline or the light downgrading is what is going to have to be done when I decide but maybe if I downgrade I should spring for the 6" aswell for best cooling in summertime.

Day 55 veg

Day 55 veg

Some pics of day 55 veg,Chrystal #1 and #2.

Both plants have alternating nodes are both confirmed female as of two weeks ago on a 20on/4off light schedule.

Chrystal #1 Canopy Shot

I plan on tying her down some more and pruning off the sucker growth before flowering.

Chrystal #2 is underferted and showing defficiencys so I will hit her with another dose of Grow big and trim sucker growth before flowering.

Chrystal #2

Here is a closeup shot of the alternating nodes on Chrystal #1

Jnugg, I don't know what kind of ventilation you have now but 440 cfm of air beeing blown through a 6" duct creates one hell of a gushing noise.
That is alot of cfm for an apartment.
I only have 280 cfm but when I first installed the fan I could still hear the gushing on the floor below. I bet 440 would be even louder...

Have you thought about this?
I built some silencers out of foam, bubble wrap and cardboard for the intake and exhaust of my fan...
reduced the noise by half but still very very loud

I got hold of some Crystal beans last year that were WWxNL#5. Is that what your bag seed is? If so, you can expect some nice frosty buds.
Good luck with your grow. :lurk:

Day 25 of 12/12

Day 25 of 12/12

Well here's the update, sorry it took me so long. All photos from tonight.

Chrystal #1 & chrystal #2 are coming along nicely.Chrystal #2 smells like a very sour/lungexpanding lemon/citrus aroma just like the nuggs the bagseed came from.Hopefully they taste the same as they smell like the original nug that I bought.

Chrystal #2 smells a little more mellow but still has that lemony/citrus smell to it with an underlyingfruit/creamy smell.

I transplanted into 5 gallon pots from 3 gallon pots becuase they were getting rootbound and starting to choke themselves out.

pH of soil is 6.0-6.5

pH of water and water/nute mix is always adjusted to 6.5

Nutes and additives used are FF Grow Big,Tiger Bloom and Open Seasame,Beastie Bloomz and Cha-Ching.All ferts and additives used every other watering as FF suggests on the 12 week feeding schedule.

Temps are stable at about 77-80F and RH% is about 35-47%

I'll have another update around day 35/40....onto the pics.....
