Here's some Real Gorilla Seeds outdoor strains grown indoors on a pheno hunt. Hoping for a couple keepers. I didn't have time for a full grow journal but late is better than never. All were topped twice and vegged for 40 days. Flowers are 18 days on the flip. 3 gallon pots with Promix BX and a pinch of dolomite lime. Lights are 400mh for veg. 600 hps first 2 weeks of flower and 1000 hps for the rest. I will update pics as they grow.

21 day I've gotta say I'm quite impressed by them all especially the Mighty Gold. Vigourous and putting up a stink. Super pungent herbal kind of sweet chewing gum smell. Hoping for one keeper of each.

29 days. Thinned a few undesirables out. A Freezeland and a Mighty Gold slightly Hermied on me. Most people would chop them down but to me it's a welcome sight. These are outdoor strains and have tendencies to Hermie indoors. As a matter of fact all of my greatest outdoor strains have always Hermied indoors. So I will have plenty of all female freezeland X Mighty Freeze seeds for outdoors. Definitely a few possible keepers Ive got my eye on. Also I was able to successfully pollinate my Platinum Cookie, Romulan and Fallen Angel with the Freezeland pollin. All in all a successful pheno hunt so far.

Not the biggest buds but super quick flowering. Great plant structure with nice branching. About half have that classic sweet chewing gum/pine Freezeland smell the other half have a dank skunky smell. No pink hairs indoors but should have the classic pink pistils outdoors Expecting them to finish second to third week of Sept at 45th parallel. I'll post more pics as they mature. Just to add they got slightly pollinated so nowhere near their potential in size or resin production as with sinsemilla buds. You'll dig them!

No but I'm assuming the freeze leaning phenos will be freeze all the way. I grew Real Gorilla freeze last season. Nice strong sweet flavor great burn quality. Euphoric with some body to the buzz. Nice stuff. Those skunky phenos are looking to be some real fire but won't have a smoke report for another 3 weeks.

👍 looking forward to the new freeze flavor, the old freezeland that was running around her way back had more of a piney taste to it.

Ya i miss the old SSSC Friesland from the late 80s my dad used to grow. I kept it going till around 2000 then unfortunately lost it. This freeze is the closest I've found to the original Friesland. One pheno in particular was vary similar. Sweet floral spruce sap type of pine with a floral skunky smell when burnt. I've been searching for that stuff and the roadkill skunk ever since but unfortunately it's been bred into oblivion. I don't care what anybody says...late 80s to early 90s had the best cannabis the world has or will ever see.

Agreed on that man! Back then it was my uncle and his buddies that was running it. It was popular in my area untill early 2000's too. Then I got into the UTG breeders stuff. Sounds promising on the RGS freezeland then... Another real good one I played with back then was Early Bramble, came from BC, I think I got it from AAA seeds. Same genetics as Greens and breederbrad's Guerilla Gold. Not sure if that's what they started the GG line from, but they were similar and great early outdoor genetics.

12/12?
I found good outdoors pheno's to be very fast at 12/12 with premature finishing quite possible under 5 weeks. It may be better to run longer days, attempting to mimic the hours when you want them flowering outdoors. Where I am it's all fully formed by 12/12, with just some filling out and maturing to do. A better test, given a much longer timeframe to work in, might be reducing hours to find the first to flower. With a good chance they are also the first to finish.
I presume you are in a similar position to me, with this breeder and strain choices.
I like to find keepers that work both in&out, but feel a lot of this banks outdoor work is very fast by introducing auto genes. I had trouble keeping long term vegative growth going, and didn't find an indoor keeper. Which is perfectly fair, as they were outdoor plants. Any that did well indoors, are somehow compromised. Generally, they would be a bit late outdoors, and may not be so weather resistant. Taking on more of the juicy genes than the hardly fast parents traits.

This should be kept in mind when some hermi, or display other end of season signs. 12/12 comes very late for a early variety.

I usually run indicas at 13/11 for first 5-6 weeks then drop to 12/12. Most of my strains outdoors are totally ripe while there's still 12.5 hrs light. They start budding with 14.5 hrs outdoors and bulk up quickest at around 13 hrs. Give them the extra hour of light if you can afford the extra electricity. Don't attemp with sativa leaning strains. Might try to reveg. Anything over 13 hrs they start to loosen up. 12.5 to 13 is sweet spot for outdoor indicas indoors

Ya a shame what happened with UTG.

Was a shame for sure, had some got connections going through that forum, and a lot of stand up breeders doing good things. But others have stepped up, and was super happy to see RGS was still offering some of breederbrad's and KrK' gear!

Well like the old saying "Nothing good ever lasts"...these freeze aren't like the 90s freeze but still fun to grow. At 45th parallel you can forget about growing anything Cookie. Cake. Pie. glue. The new glamour strains...Those strains are all OG kush based and don't grow worth a shit outdoors at 45th so I stick with the moldy oldies. Lol hey I found the 50 club this yr..lol. I'm a moldy oldie!
