Midnight Oil Strain?? Anyone know its lineage??

Hello all! My first post here on IC. I wanted to know if anyone could help me out finding the lineage of the strain Midnight Oil. I've heard and read couple things on this so far.

I was told it is a diesel mix from the east coast. I've read online that it is a hash plant mix and also a diesel mix. May be both I am unsure.

The clone I received from a buddy is growing faster than any of the others. Its greener, bushier, leaves are broad (like a hash plant or afghani strain), when I smoked the flower it was just like everyone says... Incredible! The taste was a sweet spice that I had never had the pleasure of experiencing with cannabis.

As stated in High Times (..hands-down strongest variety, Midnight Oil..)

It has it being a Hash Plant hybrid with the description below.
Description- This beautiful, purple colored, Hash-plant hybrid, is not only a joy to look at, it is great medicine! This strain is becoming known in California as one of the most powerful medicines out there. Good for pain and insomnia, Midnight Oil has a sweet grape taste, with hints of cocoa and coffee.

So is it hash plant? is it diesel? is it both? I've also heard that Burning the Midnight Oil is another strain with different genetics but this may be untrue.

Help anyone :deadxmas:

Thank you Mikell but I was hoping to get some information on the strain Midnight Oil. Perhaps someone from California (since its known to be cloned over there) or the NorthEast Coast ( its supposed origin ). These may be the same or two different strain but its unknown history is why I am asking. It was reported that the strain was so strong he had to chop it down early.
