Flowering a plant of unknown seed origin. Plant started in 2 gallon pot. Plant is about 5 ft tall. Vegged for 30 days 24hr photo period. Now flowering for 60 days. A few lower leaves turnig very yellow. Buds are thin and whispy and long. Feeding Fox Farm Big Bloom. At this point should I possibly try a transplant or just let it go?? OR is this even a root problem???Or is this normal?

sounds like nitrogen def. if there arent any other nute problems, i wouldnt be too concerned at 60 days, maybe give an extra tsp per gallon of ferts and see if that helps.

On the buds being thin and whispy, you havent given enough info. What kind of soil are you using, what kind of lights and how many watts, and how far away are the lights from the plant.

More info is prob needed, but I just ripped some OG kush and forgot what I was writing about halfway through the post. (Damn phone rang and i lost train of thought)

Did you really start a seed in a 2gal pot, or did you mean you started it in flowering with a 2gal pot? If you started the seed in 2gal pot i'd say that might have something todo with your problems. The root system would be pretty screwed up.

Yeah, your problem is with the pot. If you started a seedling in a 2 gal pot, the roots are all down the side and def rootbound by now. Rule of thumb is 1 gal per foot of growth which leaves you 3 gal short on bucket size. That 5 ft tall plant should be in a 5 gal pot. If you are at day 60 flowering, it's a little late to repot, but you still might get some nice buds off of her. Good luck!

if you keep a plant in same container ohh say 6 months then possible its root bound i flowered in 1 gal bags for 120days and they wernt root bound. sounds like duder above has a full on sativa 60 days in fluffy thin buds no worries around 90 days she should start to fatten up. also the very bottom leaves yellowing are a natural part of life for the plant. now if all or most where turning yellow i would say a diff nute deff but with just the very bottom i wouldnt bet on that. most likely yellowing is caused by not enough N during the 1st phase of flowering the 1st - 2-3 wk stretch. this is where alot of stord N is used up thus causing plants to yellow premature.

i also flowered a clone in approx 1 cup of soil 55 days and it wasnt rootbound either.

Hey what's up. So you have another plant that is at day 30flowering? If so what kind of pot are they in? If it's like those thin black potting containers like from a nursery you can always take a box cutter and take off the bottom inch of the pot careful not to cut the roots, then get your 3-5gallon container fill it with dirt and kinda plant that inch of open dirt into the bigger pot, it's kinda like transplanting minus alot of stress. I believe i learned this technique from BOG. But yeah if you are gonna keep workin with dirt always start your seeds in small pots then increment your way up to bigger pots. I usually go from 1.5inx1in seedling tray cutouts then move to a 6oz Dixie cup then I go up to a gal, then 3 gal, etc...basically you are just trying to build up the root system.

yeah, its those black containers i'll try carefully cuttin 1 inch off and put it in a 5 gal.I'll try my hand at hydro but a trial and error with soil must be a possitive....I plan to seed hydro next with "real" seeds and do have some lavender clones about to root.
