MH in Flower

Has anyone used Metal Halide ALONE in flower?
I have an extra 250 and want to set up a flower cab, will it work? or am I better off spending a couple hundred dollars on HPS?

I'm a new grower, but I have read that if you use a HPS for flowering you will get the better spectrum of light, 400w is really good although I dont have one, cuz I havent been able to afford it, but when I can, That's what I'm buying. Good luck

Yes a MH will work fine for flower and produce normal buds. Yield may not be maximized but if the genetics are dank the buds will be dank. You can compensate by buying an Agrosun Gold MH bulb... more red.

I have always found my MH buds to be a slight bit smaller, but more dense - so they pretty much weigh the same. I have also noticed my AK 47 buds look a little more frosty under the MH, but potency seems the same. Weird eh? Just thought I would let you know what I have experienced in the past. I di a side by side grow a year or two ago to see the difference and that is what I noticed. Keep in mind it was only with one strain so results might vary with strain. Good luck!

yea dude MH is fine i agree with wookie man to get a better bulb to maximize your yield... but with only 250w your yield is not going to be very strong in the first place but im sure you know that. However i do think that with a 250w'er right on top of 2 well vegged plants that you could pull some interesting results especially with good genetics, good luck man!

Thanks guys, IC mag is great. I knew it could be done, just didn't have first hand experience, therefore I came here...

I'm going to look into a MH with a red spectrum in it.

check out the sunmaster warm series, i use a 1000 watt and i love it.

yes yield was half...potency was almost double believe it or no
