MH and flowering

I’ve seen/heard that MH helps with trichome production. I know also MH emits less light overall than HPS so a loss in “weight” could be added. I’m wondering if once I’m at the very end (like waiting 5-10 days for them to finish up) if itd be worth it? Or should I just add another light that’s a MH bulb to the room?

i did a full grow under 400mh and the plant’s did turn out more frosy than usual but it was also in a much smaller pot than usually.. but all in all i was happy wow it went under a single mh lamp..
so mixed with hps definitely wont do harm

one of the best set-ups I had for indoor was with 2x 1K lights, an MH and an HPS.

plants started 12/12 under the MH, then moved down the table to the HPS.

In the middle of flowering they were in the middle & got a mix of light.

That was with an ebb & flow set-up with 6 inch rockwool cubes.

i made a mistake and had a nutrient reservoir crack ... the carpet was a goner ... ended up costing $15K for the mold police.

Good Pot though !!

One of the best things about this forum is people using abbreviations. It makes it a challenge for me to figure out or research what they mean, which if fun. Sometimes I go on Greek or Japanese forums if I really want a challenge.

My last run with HIDs was with alternating bulbs HPS and MH all the way thru flowering.
I would say that MH has much more penetration and for what i see a better spectum....

I loved the results.But cant speak in comparison... i was ready to switch to full MH reading also about the good experiences on this forum....but then the LEDs came...immediately sold on the heat and energy efficiency.


Thers a beautiful thread on side by side MH HPS here......i cant find it doh...
