Half a teaspoon makes five gallons of imid water. Err on the side of caution and use a little less than half a teaspoon. Use as a soil drench. Dip the entire rootball if you can. Dont use merit if You are flowering. Merit in Veg, Mycotrol O in flowering. Just water Your plants as You normally would, with the imid water, and do it again in a week. Imid water seems to last for a week or two without losing potency.

I use Bayer Tree & Shrub, which has an imid strength of 1.47%. I believe that Merit is considerably stronger. I do three drenches about 3-4 days apart using 1 tsp/gallon. On my last run, the clones had root aphids and this time they just had a fungus gnat infection, but I used it anyway as a preventative measure. I wasn't going to wait and see what else developed and got a little stronger toe hold!

Thanks for the help guys. is anyone using merit in DWC? Because I'm lazy I was thinking of mixing the merit in with the next res change and letting it run for a week till the next change and hoping this wont set the plants back too much

I wouldnt run merit for a whole week. Try drenching from the top manually, before you change Your nutrients. Merit is systemic so one drenching a week in veg should be enough. It will burn your leaves if you use too much. Depending on the size of your grow, and the severity of the infestation, it may take five or even six weeks to eliminate these nasty little monsters.

ooo one of my favorites.. 1/2 tsp per 5 gal. Id do what one of the others mentioned and do it b4 nute change. Bayer tree and shrub has imid in it at a very low concentration but it also has ferts in it. Merit has no ferts. Results can be seen very quickly for most ppl. Dont use in flower

Root drench only. You need to know and understand also that because Merit75 is 75% imidacloprid that it remains in plant tissues for quite a long time. In some instances it's been shown to be in tissues a year after treatment. In other words, NEVER in flower, because once you use it you've set a clock which has a minimum of 60 days to run.

When I used imidacloprid to deal with my RA infestation I used Bayer T&S. It didn't work well at all, only diminished numbers. I flooded my tables (coco coir, sea of green methods) for several hours. Then I tried Spectracide with Triazicide, and I chose that specifically for its pre-harvest interval times. Flooded the tables for several hours and it worked GREAT. So to me that hints that you should be able to add to the reservoir, for a few hours at least.

If your plants were in a media other than water, I would ask you to try a hot water dip or root drench on any plant you'd be willing to experiment with. I've only been given a few reports back on this method and would like to learn more should I ever experience RAs again.

Oh! I forgot. When you treat your plants you MUST treat the entire space and all adjacent spaces. If you don't, you're likely to experience re-infestation.

Im not sure you need to do anything really.....

often this shows up in the middle of veg and its more important to do something....

The calmag wont hurt it.... just made sure it doesnt have nitrogen in it....

If it does probably better to pass ......
ANd then use calmag next round.....
