about the time of my first decent grow someone sent me some "bagseed" from l.a.. i would describe them as "lemon pledge" but i have to distinguish with menthol.. maybe camphor.. extremely pungent, one hit would penetrate your sinuses, to great effect with any congestion.
but everyone says their weed smells like lemon pledge.. so i read a bunch of old threads and it seems like menthol isn't too popular - several ppl say menthol "tastes like kools, gross". they talk about feeling some coolness on the tongue on inhale, not a characteristic a lot of people want to keep. otoh ppl with lung issues have a different appreciation of terpenes that increase lung function.
this bud was great for pulmonary function.
i didn't realise at the time how unique this was, i was just learning about strains and terpenes, and i kind of considered it a novelty myself, using it to prep for smoking danker tasting weed. in retrospect, it was pretty potent, trichs everywhere. it was lemon pledge in a way that when people say other weed is lemon, doesn't even register. i know it was good because m. from tucson's med club said so before she swiped a seeded bud.
buds weren't dense, real styrofoam weight, encrusted with trichs, light foliage, bit leafy, fast grower, big seeds.. not that i anticipate finding this strain again.. i've been looking through the possibilities for a similar terp profile.. could have been a pheno of something chem, finding a lot of headband mentions with lemon and menthol.. lemon diesel was nowhere near it... a few people say they get these terps from ice but other descriptions don't match it enough.
no one would just call this lemon bud, and definately menthol not fuel. the pungency dominates the experience, i could see people getting pissed off "i wanted a bag of weed not sinus medication" so it may not have a lot of commercial clout, that penetrative effect iirc lasted for several minutes. i'd call it "snoot" or "zing".
