Mendocino Seed Co? Blackberry Kush?

Does anyone have information on these guys? They seem to be big on the blackberry kush and crossing it . I picked up the blackberry kush in reg seed form at hempcon in san jose, have it popped outdoors now, some issues with mutants and attached cotyledons which form a cup. About 4 out of 12 did this, 1 was lost to fungus gnats. I know someone else who ran 12 and ended up with 3 that did the same mutant cotyledon growth. All seeds popped. Suppose to be a early/middle sept. finisher. They also had some new crosses, Blackberry x Cali-O was one that they were working on releasing seeds for. Any info would be appreciated, it's like they have no internet presence.

I can't speak to the seed company, however blackberry kush is very nutrient sensitive. At least the cuts that I have are. Two of three showed burn at 1 tsp. per gallon, at 12" tall. Fish fertilizers.

Many plants of that size would take three times that and ask for more in a few days. Seems nute sensitive, fwiw.

From what I know Blackberry Kush is a clone only female and could not be truly used as a male, except I suppose, as reversed pollen. I have crossed a few males to this cut and many have been superb. I have not noticed the above nutrient sensitivity, but it does carry the, "preflower when rootbound" trait. Although the clone was always more sensitive than the offspring. IME.

Out of my 12 pack, 2 males, the lter male that I kept hermied, 1 female is fast and dense but nearly no smell. The others have light smells but look airy.

2 more slow mutants from friends 12 pack got chopped. Down to 4 in veg. Despite high hopes and 120 a pack, there isn't one keeper in 20 so far.

I remember the Mendo cut to be not very strong. Where are these guys out of..?

They claim to be from mendo. Everything I've heard about blackberry cuts isn't very good. That sept harvest they preached on nearly all of their strains is what made me bite. Unfortunate, I have a few of their other strains but doubt I will run them.

Bubba x blackberry and I believe "perfect kush."

Oddly enough, my decade spent in the center of it all yielded very few people knowledgeable in strains. Many still grew whatever they had always grown. Some had no names for their strain. I was surprised. The Blackberry line grew good outdoors. For many that is enough, such as with the "pineapple," a very popular local high-yielder that is low on potency, but tastes nice, and absolutely kicks down under the sun.
