Medicinal Effects of Strains

Junk

Member
Forgot to add some of my experiences...Fwiw, I have severe and chronic pain, Chronic Fatigue, seizures, nausea, insomnia, anxiety...and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. Part of my disorder is that my muscles are tense and rigid all the time. I can't move freely, and what little I can move is painful.

Goji (I forget whose it is)- This one is good during the day. It's a happy, carefree feeling. If you use too much you won't get a lot done, but just don't go overboard and this one is great. For me, it's effects are mostly mental. My head feels good and I can get through the day.

Schrom is much different in smell, taste, etc but the effects are generally the same for me. Also, a little gets you going, a lot gets you stoned. I find Schrom has no ceiling. I love it every time. I forget the parents, and this one is very hard to find, but it feels like a gentle, long lasting Sativa. You will know if it's the real one when you flower it. It's a potent citrus/pine smell, extremely "bright" smelling. You know when you get a whiff of bleach, it's potent, but it somehow feels "clean?" This flower is like that...there is no mistaking it. It's loud, super-lemony, piney. It goes from your nose right to your eyes it's so lemony. It smells like a cleaner of some sort. If you don't notice what I said above, your cut is likely fake. I've seen this happen with Schrom, that's why I bring it up. It would be an asset to your medical tent, but make sure you are getting it from a reliable source.

Grape OG - This one is lovely at night. I forget the lineage atm, but this has a nice body stone. After a couple tokes I can actually feel my muscles letting go. I've been like this since I was 26 (I'm 39 now) It's an amazing relief. The fist time I experienced it, I cried. My body hadn't felt that "comfortable" in over a decade. And then I have no problems sleeping. But I can also use it during the day with no problems. I don't feel couch lock from it. If you have body pain or trouble sleeping, I highly recommend this one.

Snow Diesel (Big Buddy) this makes me eat like a horse. A lot of days my stomach will not let me eat. If I try, it just comes back up. But Snow Diesel, I can eat all day. This one is potent. Unless you want to get stoned (no judgement here) don't consume a lot. A little goes a long way. Smoke a full serving and it will reduce your eyelid height by half. The Sour Diesels I've had have been the same.

Lemon Larry x Lavender (Big Buddy again) - this is another nice daytime strain. Everything about this plant is beautiful. I feel relaxed, less tired, less overwhelmed. I also get very happy and chatty in the beginning. I often sing while on it. If I hadn't lost it to bugs, I would have kept this one. It's not heavy or "potent" feeling, but it's not exactly light either. It's very pretty, the smell is noticeable, and nice, but modest...it's just positively lovely for anxiety/depression/mood. I know Big Buddy was happy with this cross, and he should be. It's a very pleasant strain!

Sunshine Daydream (BB or Bodhi?) - This one is great for mindfulness. It's good during the day, so long as you don't overdo it. I write music, and if I have a healthy serving of this, it just flows out of me. I feel really creative, happy etc. You can use this, and somehow get lost in whatever you are doing. But you are not stupid or stoned. You can have a conversation with people. Another advantage is if you puff a lot of this, you will be on another planet. Same with Goji and Schrom. You can tailor the dose to your needs. With SSDD, I often find myself doing little projects that I just never get to otherwise. Not sure why, but that's the effect it has on me.

Hope this helps.

Schrom, lucky you! I lost mine and I have been on the hunt ever since. I want to make a cross with it that should be very medicinal. Genetics are Federation Romulan crossed to Colombian Gold. I forget which is the mother.
For my back and neck pain it is Gorilla Biscuit all the way. Migraines it's Wild Cherry and to brighten my day it is either Cherry Cake or Ecto Cooler...

I'm new to the forums, and I'm learning a lot. Thanks to all of you! My question is how, where do I find the right strain for me? I suffer from fibromyalgia, chronic back and hip pain, and copd. What I'm getting now is a big question mark, but it takes the edge off. I want a strain that is geared for me. Btw, in the state I live in anything to do with marijuana is illegal, but we can have a mm card. Find as Nathan Deal! Anyway thanks for whomever replies.

Hi Folks,
Can I respectfully refer you to The Chronic Pain Club. Very closely related to your discussions and as it has been overlooked for some time, the Club needs new input.

I'm always on the lookout for an insomnia buster. Most people don't like strains that make them sleep, but for me it greatly increases the quality of my life.

Each of these strains can have a different effect from person to person. Take a small dose at a time and wait a couple of hours before consuming again in order to know how the particular strain will affect you.

Here I am sharing with you Best Marijuana Strains for Medical Purposes:-

1.Blue Dream
Blue Dream was created in Northern California. It was originally created by taking a strain called DJ Short’s Blueberry and crossing it with another strain called Silver Haze.
This Blue Dream strain is a Sativa-dominant hybrid that has a dense and popcorn-like appearance. The buds are in both purple and blue colors with some orange hairs.

2.OG Kush
OG Kush was created in Los Angeles by taking the Hindu Kush and Chemdawg and crossing them together.
It is an Indica-dominant strain that has a very multi-green color to it. It has an earthy pine smell to it and is very smooth when smoked.
This strain has one of the highest THC contents around and can really pick up a person after a hard day’s work. This strain is great for combating against anxiety or stress, as well as anyone with ADD or ADHD, or stress disorders such as PTSD.

3.Green Crack
Green Crack comes from Georgia and is a hybrid between the marijuana strains Skunk #1 and Sweet Leaf Indica.
This strain has strong Sativa effects and has a medium-green color blend that is mixed with blue and orange hairs. It has a fruity and tangy kind of smell which gives it the nickname Mango.

This strain is known for being very alluring in that the smoke itself tastes good so it keeps the user wanting to smoke more. It is a good daytime choice for people suffering from fatigue, stress, or depression.

4.Girl Scout Cookies
This strain comes from California and is a mix between OG, Durban Poison, and Cherry Pie.It has a green and orange color and is said to have a sweet and earthy aroma, with a sweet taste.
This strain will give its user a euphoric high and will help your body to fully relax with a lot of cerebral activity.
It can help those dealing with chronic pain, nausea and appetite loss. It has also been used for those with insomnia and PTSD.

5.Grand Daddy Purple
This strain comes from California and has gone by other names such as Grape Ape, Purple Erkel, and Granddaddy Grape Ape.

As this bud matures, it gains that purple color that grants it its name. There is a grape kind of aroma to the plant that also aids in giving it that memorable name that helps it stick out more than other marijuana strains. It also helps against muscle spasms, insomnia, pain, and stress.

A) Most of that information is completely and entirely wrong. Nobody knows the lineage of OG Kush or Green Crack. GDP is not the same thing as Purple Urkle or Grape Ape.

B) Why do you talk like your words are generated by a bad AI?

purple indicas seem to really work. something about the anthocyanin's and the entourage effect that really makes my eyes heavy. my idea of a perfect sleep hybrid would be something like bubba kush x mendo purps or bubba kush x purple urkle or somerhing. i have a god bud x bubba kush that i haven't tried yet. god bud is a good strain too on its own. makes your body feel super heavy and relaxed. ive dabbed cbn isolate before aswell and that shit really works. anyway i hope your finding what you need. the right meds can truly change your life.

Pain Relieving Strains

Pain Relieving Strains

I would Very much like to see this get done. As I am sure with most chronic illness, I suffer from a whole spectrum of maladies, and need a wide array of strains to treat my illness effectively (and let me tell you, I can treat it better with canna than big pharma, if I have variety) Although I been at this for years, there are sooo many strains, and working a new one into the rotation takes time, and space. It would be of great assistance to serious med users to be able to at least have this additional nugget of info when choosing strains. Nothing pisses me off more than to have dedicated time, $, and most importantly Grow Space to a strain that just doesnt cut it. More than half the country, and most of the world cannot go to the dispensary and try new strains, we gotta network, and dig, and gamble. Can I third the notion that this idea needs to be implemented, and soon. Good growin and good meds, folks.:joint:

Yeah me too brother. I'm currently posting these invaluable lists to IC Mag's Chronic Pain Club and your input there would be appreciated. Keep us posted on your hunt for that stellar strain!

Iffy :tiphat:

Personally I don't think it's made me smarter or dumber directly. Indirectly it probably has made me smarter because it allows me to focus on a train of thought and gives me the time to think. It also calms me which helps me think rationally.
In other words when you first smoke weed you don't become immediately smarter but over time with an altered viewpoint and a more open mind you can become smarter. I don't think it will turn an idiot into a genius though.

Indeed, marijuana does have its own pros for your brain. Though, it won't make you a Mega Mind if you smoke it 24/7. But it'll definitely help you boost your mind in one or another way.
Actually, I've just read a great article about this topic. There's a lots interesting facts and points as to "good use of marijuana". For example, cannabinoids, which is contained in the plant of marijuana, tend to interact with various receptors in the brain and therefore have significant effects caused by the usage of brain boosters.
Read it yourself, if you want to learn more about this topic:https://tonusjournal.com/brain-health/marijuana-nootropics-effective-brain-booster/

Disclaimer: I use cannabis all day, every day, for autism and physical pain related issues.

I'm currently using a cut of Canna-Tsu which has little to zero inebriation (harvest window affects it as well). It's high CBD, moderate THC and an orange citrus terpene profile.

I've noticed an increase in mood control, focus, memory, gross and fine motor control, while also bringing me into much closer contact with my emotions. At the same time I've noticed a significant decrease in pain, nausea (I used to get ill at the mere 'thought' of reading something while traveling in a car. Now I can read without issues while traveling, which is awesome.), irritability and tension.Anyone who's read my posts on here over the years will attest, CBD is amazing for patience and my current posts reflect the last few years of CBD usage. lol

Yes, cannabis has fantastic medicinal benefits, including increasing brain function. ;)

CBD's positive effects are apparent to me sampling Ringo's Gift.

High CBD low THC organic sustainable cannabis flowers provide muscle relaxation and cerebral clarity without a THC high.

Day one for these eight. Looking to grow trees.

Just the thread I was looking for.
I am Paul and I live in South Australia.
I was first prescribed mediCabilis and at a cost of $530.
I swapped companies and found a better dr that prescribed Althea CBD 100, Althea Champlain THC and Henik flower 10 grams. The three scripts cost $1000 Aust.
I have an order at chemist atm waiting to be picked up.
Again the same order but 20 grams flower.
I might add I am a 50 year old that has been a smoker for almost 40 years.
I do have Crohns and asosiated athritis and more.
I am on Oxycodone and valiam also.
Being a pensioner I have had to sell my @$$ to pay for it all.
It's old stock from Canada.
I purchased the mighty medic and volcano at $1400.
With drs fees and all my other expences I am having Anxity just having to juggle my money.
I have zero drug convictions and simlpy feel anoyed at the system.
These drugs are needed and the oils just don't do it alone.
I see many other strains but so far I get stock that is out dated.
Help me please..

In the capital state of Australia, where goverment house is has legalise pot for recreational use and permit two plants.
I can see this happen to the rest of Australia. The lollies have fire crackers.. pornography and now marijuana laws while rest of the country has not.
I am keen to try new strains and learn how to grow a quote a solution to my problem with the system.

For me, no....like calculations, right brain thinking. It's doesn't make me smarter. I was one of the ones that can't read after smoking....it was the same 2 sentences over and over again.

Flip side: enjoyment of friends/family, music.....brain storming, menial jobs (raking leaves, mowing, yard work)....YES!
