Med Brownies for Migraines

I get migraine headaches from the weather and the season is in full swing with all these nasty storms and hurricane. Time to make up a batch of med's.

I use the trichrome bearing fans and popcorn buds as the base for my meds. They are dried and ground up fine with a coffee grinder and the magic powder stores quite nicely in a small jar. 1/8 cup of the fine powder is equivalent to an oz of trim.

The trick to making good meds is to get a good extraction. 1/8 cup of ground trim is added to 1/4 cup of cooking oil and 1/2 cup of water. The mixture is simmered gently until the water is gone on low heat. This takes less than an hour. All the good medical oils in the plant matter are infused into the cooking oil using this method.

I cool the medicated oil mixture before using it for baking and store it in a cooking oil bottle. It doesn't need to be refridgerated.

I just use a brownie mix and use the amount of medicated oil that the recipe calls for. This mixture is pretty potent and one brownie is enough to handle a nasty migraine.

I don't strain it and the brownies have enough flavour so the cannabis taste isn't too strong. It helps that I've aquired a taste for the herb and it's extra fibre as well as a loss of oil too.

For quick medication, I keep a batch of the oil mixture in a salad dressing bottle. Just spread 1/2 tsp over a slice of bread. Yumm!!!

oooh salad dressing. hadn't thought of that. i wonder how well it works with olive oil and what it tastes like... i'll have to try!

what kind of shelf life do you think the herb-oil mixture might have?

I like using Extra Virgin Olive Oil to make the salad dressing with.

I've made lot's of salads using a tsp of oil with a dash of vinegar.

The infused olive oil makes nice garlic bread too!

I think it lasts a real long time. The oil won't spoil and all that comes out of the herb is more oils.

I whipped up a batch a few nights ago and found a bit left in the bottom of the salad dressing bottle from the spring. It was still potent and hadn't gone bad at all!

Just the recipe I was looking for. Just for clarification, you use water, trim, & Olive oil? Then store.

How much of this med oil does one add to say, the Brownie mix? What the specific mix calls for? Or half it?

I'm road tripping for a few weeks & brownies & firecrackers seems to be the rule of the day, for security of course.

Thanks so much for clarification in advance!

I have some Hashberry & white widow for this project . . . :rasta:

I use Canola cooking oil for baking and Extra-Virgin Olive oil for salad dressing.

For making brownies, I just make up whatever the recipe calls for. Usually it's 1/4 cup of oil + 1/4 cup of water + 1 egg and a package of brownie mix. Usually I'll double the amount of water and boil it off and give the mix a shot of milk if it seems dry.

The slow simmering action activates the THC and bonds it to the oil. If you get a good extraction the oil is very potent. I take a slice of bread and wipe up all the oil, sometimes I don't make it to the brownies if you know what I mean.

I've found most pot recipes are all over the place for amounts. 1oz of trim is usually given for baking and this isn't weight, it's volume.

1/8c = 1oz of finely ground dried trim. Just check a measuring cup in the kitchen.

I use about 2 tbsp of sweet leaf and smokeable popcorn buds.

If you're using bud, don't use anymore than about 3 joints worth!

The trick to getting a good extraction is to grind dried cured cannabis finely with a coffee grinder.

Red, you truly are The Man! Great info; I feel like a brother Possum, if you know what I mean . . . :)

Nice Tub O' Rama, too. I made my first drying tub this year, it saved a lot O' time drying . . . wish I'd seen yours before, I like the air filter you used.

:canabis: :respect:

perhaps I'll add some purple power, hmmmm

So does this mean you can put drops on the oil on your tongue? Sorry I just had to ask man. The only other thing that i know does that is a type of tincture.

I'm pretty sure that alcohol tintures are placed on the tongue. I've taken and swallowed a tsp which works pretty fast but is a but yukky. It tastes better on bread.

Actually there's lot's of ways to use or medicate with cannabis oils. You can take some of the oil and rub it into your skin which gives a nice warm feeling and a buzz too.

Nice and informative thread, I personally like to use Grapeseed oil instead of olive oil for some recipies and works just as good.

Well, I made a real nice pan of Brownies yesterday. By the time I was done, I was a bit cooked, if you know what I mean. The chocolaty goodness, along with the infused oil all over the place was too much to resist. :canabis:

I removed half of the cooked cannabis, strained the rest; I just couldn't throw out all the oily nugs, adding them to the recipe. Man was the finished product tasty. We were pleasantly blazed after dinner as I enjoyed the fruits of my labor.

I emptied several Lysine caplets and reinserted some pot infused oil from this, to enjoy later. So yeah, the oil is VERY versitile. :abduct:

I made a nice Caesar salad tonight from scratch and tossed in a tsp of the infused oil. Verry nice!

Here's my recipe

1 clove garlic minced
1 tsp anchovie paste
smush up garlic and anchovies with back of spoon in salad oil

1 egg yolk
1 tsp of fresh lemon juice

whisk lightly and add 1 tsp of special oil while whisking
blend in 2-3 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil

Add romaine lettuce and mix into salad dressing

blend in about 1/4 cup fresh grated Romano cheese
toss in a handfull of Caesar croutons

Enjoy!!!
