Mazar-I-Sharif seeds produce a resin packed indica from Real Seed Company produces the legendary hashish known as "Shirak-i-Mazar" and "Milk of Mazar" in Afghanistan. There it is grown around the desert towns of Balkh, Mazar-i-Sharif and Sheberghan in the far north of Afghanistan, close to the modern borders of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The people of these regions are a patchwork of Turkic, Tajik, Afghan and Pashtun tribes, and the history of Mazar-i-Sharif strains is likely to be equally complex. In fertile and well-irrigated soils these vigorous giants are capable of reaching 4 metres in height or more, and will produce a similarly enormous yield of intensely resinous flowers. Traditionally harvested in the first half of December with the onset of the brutal Central Asian winter, Mazar-i-Sharif plants will enjoy cold conditions, including snow, and will turn a deep blood red in low temperatures. Growers favour leaving the harvest as late as possible, sometimes into early January. Sieved "Milk of Mazar" garda is very resinous and so can be hand-pressed to make charas; it has a distinctively pungent, sweet aroma and a dreamily mellow high. Over-indulgence produces a mind-warping, immobilising and narcotic effect. Mmmmm. Mazar-I-Sharif specifics: * Cannabis genetics: Northern Afghan charas cultivar * Type: Traditional pure bred landrace * Variety: Pure Indica * Height: can reach 3 to 4 meters in its natural environment. * Yield: 1.5 to 2 kilos of dried flowers in its natural environment * Aroma: Pungent, intense terpene aroma, classic Afghan, with some sweetness * Harvest: December - January * Characteristics: Exceptionally large indica strain with the classic wide leaves

There are alot of mazar seeds floating around from different breeders. Not sure which ones are the real deal tho. Intrested in knowing if anyone has any information as well.

Real Mazar landrace is a vigorous and lush indica that grows huge if irrigated, many of the Mazar strains from seedbanks have been hybridized however, mostly with skunk.
Your best bet if you wanted the pure line would be Real seed co who used to have Mazar and Sheberghan, they are out of stock now though.

Maple leaf indica is an IBL containing 3 Afghan landraces, Im not sure how much Mazar is in it but it grows big, yeilds big and has the classic Afghan stone.

I've grown Dutch Passions version of it. Good tasting but not much potency

A friend of mine grew a pack of Dutch Passion Mazar about 6-7 years ago and found an amazing pheno. The buds were solid pink calyxes, we even chopped a fresh bud in half while harvesting and it was solid pink inside. It had great potency but really lacked terps.

Mine were feminized from their 2000 stock and it was my first indoor grow so its probably not a good example.

I grew a Mazar from I think Real Seed Co. Did not like the high and the plants were kind of rough around the edges.

I really like Maple Leaf Indica and that is a blend of Afghan indicas. I have Lapis Mountain Indica up for next grow. It is a cross of 2 Afghan indicas. Try the Mazar but have a backup or 2 of Afghans if you can afford to.

The Rsc Maz being a landrace will be quite variable (compared to MLI), also it has never been indoors so could be unpredictable in that environment.

Im a maple fan too, I find the effect is very balanced and grounded, good for any time of day.

Im interested to hear how the Lapis Mt. goes for you and how it compares to Maple.

Lapts Mtn Indica is a great plant, yield is moderate at best. there are kushy Deep Chunk phenos, Dry lemon hash phenos and chocolate/sweat combinations as well. Strong high, Rich taste. I had one that tasted just like cocoa/chocolate after being cured for almost a year.

Sounds V.Nice, especially the cocoa pheno's, one of the best plants I grew was a pakistan landrace pheno that smelt of chocolate/hazelnut. One of the happiest laughing effects, almost comparable to a thai without the raciness or overpowering mental effects.

I ran a Barneys Farm LSD and found a nice mommy. We ended up spraying her and others with a GTH1 male but haven't popped any yet

I hold some older stock of many varieties and the Mazar is one of my favorites of the Afghanistan region.

I grew out a few beans last year and this one was the keeper, never got a finished shot due to some issues but I may just have to track the cut I sent our of her thinking about her now.

I've smoked Mazar couple months ago. It's on markets still! And It's awesome still! However, I'm not sure, if it's original genetics still...
