First there was the screw up in dates...ok, so we'd be there a couple days later that we'd planned, Thursday instead of Tuesday. Not that big a deal.
Wednesday, we're packed and waiting for a ride to the airport when we received the news of a death in the family. No way we could leave.
Let me tell you, spending 4/20 at a funeral is no fun at all - especially when 20 years of anticipation finally seem to be coming to fruition and we had tickets in hand for the 420. I think we cried as much for the lost vacation as for the dead.
We are trying to reschedule the trip for May...but it won't be the same. I had so looked forward to meeting a lot of the fine folks I read and converse with here. I so wanted to attend the seminars to learn more about our favorite plant. I had definitely looked forward to trying all the sativa entries, and to rounding up a few seeds to bring home. Well, let's just say it's a major disappointment. We won't even go into where my head's at right now.
I just hope we can make it next year.
