What's new

maximum distance between air cooled lights?

I have about 4 ft. in between my two 400 watt grow lamps in the veg room.

I'll be exhausting out the cieling, so there will be a curve in the ducting unless I use a 'Y' joint. I didn't think a 'Y' joint would be very practical but if anyone thinks it could work, that would be easiest.

I can't just bring the lights closer to each other because that would leave me without a place to walk into the room.

The ducting on one of the lamps is 6" and the other is 4".

edit: how do I also adjust the slack of the ducting when I raise and lower my lamps?

Is a 'Y' joint possible? That's all I really need to know.

If its not possible, then I'll just go ahead and put the lamps right next to each other.

I know I have seen them before while working hvac and construction.
IMO a y joint splice would be a great way to cool dual lights.

if you push your lights closer together youll increase your yeild for sure. maybe itll be apain in the ass to move around, but you'll have more herb

I'm going to go ahead and chain them both directly together and not use the 'Y'. I think I'll have the room to still move around in the grow room.

Thanks.
